Located right outside of the History of Magic classroom is a large wooden board with a sleek white material placed in the middle of it. The board is charmed to display any recent homework that is assigned, as well as any announcements that Professor Scabior deems important. Make sure you check in frequently! The board has a habit of erasing anything that it thinks has been posted for too long.

History of Magic Lesson Two Homework

As many of you were not able to reach the end of the class you would not have realized the main subjects of the lesson. Ghouls, Ghosts and Poltergeist, each magical creature very different from the other.

You will write a three parchment (paragraph) essay about one of the following:

• 1. The differences between each magical creature.
  2. How one of the three creatures have helped shaped Hogwarts History.
  3. How some of the rooms represented the creatures (Only do this, if you were able to make it into the fourth room)

History of Magic Lesson Three Homework

Option A: Choose an area in the castle that you believe needs a password and explain why based on what you believe Surles Cavendish would say. After state what kind of password you would use (verbal, written, another language, funny dance ect) and again, why. Remember, previous Headmasters like Dumbledore often followed a certain theme, changing his passwords frequently, yet all had to do with candy.

Option B: For those of you who think Hogwarts doesn't need any more passwords I want you to give an example of one area that has a password that you would eliminate and why. Explain if you would replace this area with a charm (if yes, what charm) or not based on what you believe Petey Pride would say.

Bonus for both: Include a diagram/picture.
