26. Quill

Laying on his stomach, Teddy Lupin crossed his legs up behind him in the air as he considered what to write next. Twirling the feathered end of Harry’s best quill around his sandy blond hair, Teddy was struck with inspiration. He inked up the quill before moving it in graceful arcs across the parchment… and the new carpet.

“Teddy!” came the gasp of Ginny Potter, pregnant with her first child. She watched the boy at first in horror, but then with a smile on her face as he ruined Harry’s quill and made atrocious scribbles on the page. Independent quillwork.

25. Sorting Hat

“Lupin, Theodore.”

Hearing an unusual quiet in the Great Hall, Teddy placed a foot on the dias and headed towards the sorting hat. His hair was a stark white today, except his eyebrows and eyelashes which were a regular brown colour. On the stool he sat… awaiting his fate. Then the brim opened.

It was all down to this. His future depended on the hat, and it was no time at all until it shouted…

“RAVENCLAW!”

Pulling the hat off, Teddy turned his hair the blue and bronze colour of his new house and headed over to sit with them.

77. Cheerful

“You’re lookin’ mighty cheerful today, Teddy,” Harry grinned at his fourteen year old godson as he came over for a visit. Teddy wore his heart on his sleeve and his emotions… in his hair. Right now said hair was bright blond and he had sparkling grin eyes, and of course there was the grin on his face that had nothing to do with being a Metamorphmagus.

“She… she…” Teddy stammered, sinking into an armchair.

“Ah,” Harry replied, holding off a groan. The symptoms were clear, from the demeanour of Teddy to the now visible lipstick print on his cheek. Girlfriend.

Felixir 08-20-2009 02:38 AM

54. Dare

“It was a dare,” Teddy mumbled sullenly. He was sitting in his godfather’s study, legs swinging back and forth as he faced the apparently angry man.

“Teddy, you go to a muggle school. I don’t care what Ron told you to do, you know you aren’t allowed to change appearance for when you go to school,” Harry groaned, exasperated. “Seven year olds just don’t suddenly have naturally pink hair.”

Pouting, Teddy nodded his head, hair returning to the black colour to match with Harry’s, the one his school friends knew. Harry sighed. Continuity with a young metamorphamus was hard work.

Felixir 08-20-2009 04:23 AM

46. Dungeon

The dungeon. Cold, dark, dank… foreboding.

Until Teddy Lupin brightened up the day.

A lovely trick Teddy and his friends loved to play on he Slytherins was dressing Teddy in the snakes’ robes and changing his face to look like one of them. It had actually been Teddy that showed the soft side of Slytherin house, so to speak. Of course, after he published an unofficial school newspaper of letters from each Slytherin students to their family’s, the cuddly toys that were being slept with and more incriminating evidence, the young metamorhmagus was set the ‘reward’ of cleaning the dungeons.

Felixir 08-20-2009 04:34 AM

7. Care of Magical Creatures

Teddy excelled in Care of Magical Creatures. Sure, maybe it was because he could change his appearance to relate to the animal he was studying and working with, but all the same, the creatures appeared to love him. He handled them with a kind, calm physique. Tough, firm, yet gentle.

Until the day his metamorphmagus abilities betrayed him. The Professor had said nifflers LIKED shiny things, so Teddy turned his hair to a sleek silver colour.

And they all turned on him, nuzzling his head and scalp, going for the roots where it seemed shiniest.

Teddy Lupin. Concussion by nifflers.

Felixir 08-20-2009 04:51 AM

53. Chase

“LUUUUUUPIIIIIIN!”

A chuckle rippled throughout the corridors at Hogwarts as a baby-faced young boy with mousy hair sprinted down one of them. On his tail was a boy who’d obviously been the victim of having animal fur magically glued to his face. Teddy had been caught in the act; the chase was on.

“Now you know. Don‘t call me a cub,” the boy giggled, rounding a corner and bouncing off a certain Professor Sprout. “Oops,” he muttered, ducking out of the way as the werewolf looking boy rounded the corner after him and bowled over the Hufflepuff Head of House.

Felixir 08-20-2009 05:10 AM

66. Pace

Back and forth. Back and forth. The basic principles of pacing. That’s what Harry Potter was doing when his 15 year old godson wasn’t back from his date.

“Calm down, Harry,” Ginny murmured from the foot of the stairs as she headed up to check on the kids. “He’s sensible.”

“Yeah…” Harry mumbled, resuming his pacing.

At midnight exactly, the front door swung open. “It must be loooooove,” came the sing-song voice of turquoise-haired Teddy. “Whatcha doooooing?”

Having pretty much worn a hole in the carpet, Harry dropped into his armchair and breathed a sigh of relief. “Pacing.”

“Liiiiiies.”

“Bed.”

Felixir 08-20-2009 05:19 AM

15. Room

Twenty years old. The years had gone by fast… Teddy seemed to move even faster. After Albus’ first year at Hogwarts, the family had returned back home and James had gone straight up to his room, discovering Teddy and Victoire blatantly SNOGGING in front of him. However Bill Weasley’s daughter had managed to get to Teddy faster than the family had got home was not even a thing to be considered yet.

“Ewwwww! Get a rooooom!” James reeled, unable to look away.

“We have one,” Teddy replied, keeping a straight face. “You’re in it. Shoo.”

And shoo the boy did.

Felixir 08-20-2009 05:32 AM

32. Common Room

The Ravenclaw common room was made of epic fail.

Or at least, the entrance was. Teddy would have found a password so much easier to handle, but noooooo he had to use his BRAIN! Just because he was naturally good at most magic didn’t necessarily make him smart!

“How long is a piece of string?”

Couldn’t you just… magically lengthen it? Like he could magically change his appearance. Teddy suggested this.

And got locked out.

Until the seventh year‘s saviour found him.

“How long is a piece of string?”

“However long you cut it,” the first year replied.

Access: granted.

Felixir 08-21-2009 05:47 PM

35. Pureblood

“Sooooo… I’m a pureblood?” Teddy Lupin asked Harry, head tilted to one side. He was only ten, and Harry was having trouble explaining this.

“Well… no… But you aren’t muggle-born or half-blood.”

Teddy blinked.

“See, your father had at least one parent in the wizarding community, and your mother had one parent from a pureblood family. You come from wizarding heritage… like me.”

Teddy nodded in understanding. “Ohhhh, I get it… so I am a pureblood. Thanks Harry!” the boy quipped, bounding off and leaving Harry to face palm. Technically, ‘pureblood’ wasn’t accepted as a term nowadays, in any case.

Felixir 08-26-2009 12:37 PM

17. Cauldron

Teddy Lupin was once so small, he could hide in a cauldron and not be found. Which he had decidedly done. Harry hadn’t liked it, but Teddy had a good reason: they weren’t having ice cream for dinner.

Torture.

The young lad, seven years old, had curled up and hid inside the biiiiiiiig cauldron that Harry sometimes used for work and such things. Everyone had been calling his name and panicking, for an hour.

When he was found, Teddy had to go to bed even earlier than James.

But guess what? They had ice cream for dinner the next day.

Felixir 08-26-2009 12:49 PM

23. Telescope

“But Harryyyyyyyyy… I want the glass one,” Teddy whined, tugging on Harry’s sleeve. They were buying Teddy’s school supplies, just Teddy, Harry and Andromeda Tonks. Teddy turned to the old woman. “Please tell him, Grammahhhh! Please! I want it soooooo bad!”

Harry gave the old woman a look from behind the young metamorphmagus, a look which clearly said ‘no’.

“Teddy, you inherited your mother’s oh so graceful way of moving… you aren’t having the glass one,” Andromeda explained to a pouting Teddy.

“Did not,” he retorted, turning back to look at the glass telescope, accidentally knocking it to the floor.

Felixir 09-05-2009 07:36 PM

14. Hogwarts, A History

“… all in Hogwarts: A History,” Hermione was saying to Teddy, in the same way that Harry had assured the boy she had always spoken. Teddy was wary of Hermione, and usually chose to keep his distance, but when he wanted to hear things about the school, she was the one to go to. And Hermione’d gone on a spiel.

It was relatively easy to zone out; as long as he didn’t subconsciously keep changing his appearance, nobody realised he wasn‘t paying attention.

Just about catching the name of the book, Teddy made a mental note to look it up.

Felixir 09-05-2009 07:37 PM

3. Transfiguration

Being a metamorphmagus, Teddy pretty much excelled at Transfiguration. At first it was hard, like when they had to turn matchsticks into needles that first lesson. All Teddy usually had to do was think about something changing, and it happened. That day in Transfiguration, Teddy had started the day looking relatively normal.

And he looked at the matchstick. And he thought ‘silver and pointy!’

But nothing happened.

Until, there was a kind of strained laughter from nearby. Everyone else seemed suddenly fixated on his hair. Staring into a nearby mirror, Teddy facepalmed.

Can you guess what his hair looked like?

Felixir 09-05-2009 07:40 PM

87. Plaid

“I am NOT wearing THAT!” Teddy yelled indignantly, running away from his godfather and unwittingly trapping himself in the laundry room. “EEP!”

Slowing down, Harry allowed himself a smile as he found his godson frantically looking for an escape. “It’s part of the uniform, kiddo,” he said, by means of apology.

The young black-haired boy scowled back, folding his arms over his chest. “But I’m TEN! Nobody my age would be seen DEAD in those things!” he protested, pointing at the plaid shorts dangling from Harry’s hands.

“Exactly. You‘ll have the pleasure of walking around in them,” Harry teased.

“Evil.”

Felixir 09-12-2009 09:57 AM

24. House Elf

“Harry,” Teddy asked, approaching his godfather as the man assisted their house elf, Dobby the Second, with the tidying up.

“Hmmmm?” Harry asked his nine-year old godson. The boy kept changing his appearance, trying to find an appropriate identity. It was… unnerving.

“Why do you have a house elf?” the boy asked, smiling sweetly, though fire blazed in his eyes. Harry recognised that look. It had almost become his best friend’s trademark back when she was fourteen. Harry narrowed his eyes and made a mental note to have stern words with her.

“Hermione,” the man growled under his breath.

“Indeed.”

Felixir 09-12-2009 10:08 AM

84. Angry

Teddy was angry. Furious. Cantankerous.

“You can’t DO this!” he yelled at his grandmother, stomping his foot as she glanced calmly at him. “It’s NOT FAIR!”

Andromeda, knowing how these arguments usually went, kept her composure and stared down at Teddy. “All the owls I’ve had from school this year? They weren’t fair. Putting the burden of your behaviour on me? No. Until you learn to behave, I will be withdrawing privileges from you.”

“You CAN’T stop me from seeing Harry! He’s my GODFATHER!”

“And I am your guardian. Go to you room, please.”

And Teddy went, hair Weasley-red. Angry.

Felixir 09-12-2009 10:39 AM

18. Whomping Willow

Teddy hissed in pain as Madam Pomfrey applied the potion to heal the cuts over his body. The boy had attempted to get into the secret passage he knew was concealed beneath the Whomping Willow.

And had failed miserably.

“Let this be a lesson,” the woman said, though not exactly sternly. Everyone knew he was trying to recover something to do with his parents.

All he’d managed to find was himself in detention in the near future.

“Sure,” Teddy mumbled, glancing down and twiddling his thumbs. He should have known he was lucky that Harry was forthcoming with that information.

Felixir 09-12-2009 11:14 AM

43. Headmaster

“Hey Albus,” Teddy nodded, entering the Headmaster’s office and nodding to the portrait above the desk. He’d been on first name terms with the portrait of Dumbledore since his very first visit up here office in his very first week of his very first year at Hogwarts.

Well, he wasn’t exactly an angel.

“What is it this time, Teddy?” the old man asked, with false weariness. Even in painted form his blue eyes twinkled. Teddy wished Dumbledore was still the headmaster.

“Dungbomb in the staff loo,” the seventeen year old replied, grinning sheepishly. “Old Lady Pince dang near keeled over.”

Felixir 09-12-2009 11:58 AM

41. Thestrals

Hagrid nodded at his fifth year class. Around half of them could see the Thestrals ahead of them. Though this was a large number, things did happen every now and then and Hagrid assumed this was the whole ‘revenge of the death eaters’ thing that occured. He smiled when he saw Teddy with his hand not raised. Harry and Andromeda had done well keeping him sheltered.

In the back of the class, Teddy was nervously shuffling his wizarding snap cards, one wary eye on the horse things. He couldn’t reveal that he could see them… or that would ruin everything.

Felixir 09-12-2009 12:15 PM

56. Fight

“FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!”

The crowd chanted as one as Teddy and some Gryffindor wrestled each other around the courtyard. The Gryffindor had mentioned something about real heroes followed by a snide remark about Remus Lupin, unaware that the man’s only son was in hearing range. There soon followed an exhibition of muggle duelling.

“FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!”

Teddy had the surprise advantage, and although the Gryffindor had the brawn, Teddy realised he could win this fist-fight using his mind.

It was all going so well, a dodge her, a swift shove there.

Until…

Teddy fell to the ground, defeated, muttering dazedly.

Felixir 09-12-2009 12:32 PM

33. Classroom

The classroom was empty. That was good. Teddy needed for there to be nobody around to witness this. If anyone saw… his good reputation would be in shards. Teddy was imagining dirty looks, total exile and possibly being disowned from his family.

Not. Good.

Pushing a desk in front of the door for good measure after magically locking it, Teddy scanned the room and blocked the windows with a wave of his wand.

Standing in the middle of the classroom, Teddy braced himself and opened his mouth.

“IIIIIIII can shoowwwww you the worrrrrrrrrrrrld,” he ‘sang’, voice warbling dangerously; singing practice.

Felixir 09-12-2009 10:12 PM

89. Past

Not many kids had the history of Teddy Lupin. But Teddy didn’t live in the past. It was too full of prejudice. Being the son of a werewolf had caused some of the nasty kids to puts raw steaks in his school bag, those were usually the Slytherins. Gryffindors sometimes made comments about Remus and his attempt to abandon his wife and kid, though how that had ever slipped out was beyond Teddy. The boy was just walking and talking proof that you can’t escape your past. So he had to make a name for himself.

Had to BE himself.

Felixir 09-12-2009 10:23 PM

5. Astronomy

You can’t do Astronomy with a broken glass telescope. Reparo just will not do the trick. That fails, but it’s true.

It turned out that the broken telescope was a sign of things to come; Teddy was absolute FAIL in Astronomy. He’d line up the sights, plot out the stars and planets and whatnot, all the different constellations. Everything according to what the Professor told them. But he just couldn’t get it right.

“Professor! Professor!” he was heard shouting in alarm one night, gazing through his (unbreakable) telescope. “I think I discovered a new planet!”

“That’s the moon, Lupin.”

“… oh.”

Felixir 09-12-2009 10:45 PM

81. Depression

“Siiiiiiiiiiiigh,” Teddy sighed, staring out over the lake, thinking he was deeply depressed. The thirteen year old lay back on the grass and closed his eyes, thinking about his parents and generally being self-pitying. If Harry could see him, he’d probably be on the receiving end of a lecture which would of course, in his opinion, begin with ‘I never had what you have. My family hated me…’

BLAH! Teddy’s family hated him. He got a howler from his grandmother and all he’d done was put trip jinxes in random locations about the school. Life was so unfair to him.

Felixir 09-12-2009 11:01 PM

59. Ignore

That kid was a stubborn little… thing. He really wouldn’t listen to reason. In fact, one might have thought he was the progeny of Sirius Black had it not been chronologically impossible.

“Don’t ignore me, young man,” Harry said, trying to impose his authority as he babysat a two-year old baby metamorphmagus, who was extremely good at feigning deafness when it was time to tidy up.

“Innor,” Teddy intoned, running to the next toy and plonking himself down, apparently doing a running commentary.

Grabbing Teddy, Harry cringed when the kid started screaming. So Teddy ignoring him was better after all.

Felixir 09-13-2009 10:52 AM

78. Lake

Swimming in the Lake was a wonder that Teddy loved to behold. It may have been obvious from the turquoise colour he turned his hair when he was just a baby that he would end up being a fantastic swimmer, but if it wasn’t them, it surely was now.

Teddy would dive deep down into the murky depths, always in search of the merpeople’s village he knew was down there. He never found it, it was too far down, but Teddy met a merman once, a young one… a new friend. Of course, after he resurfaced, they never met again.

Felixir 09-13-2009 11:02 AM

49. Yule Ball

“You’re lucky, mate,” Harry was saying to his godson who had just come back from a Christmas eve date. “I had to go to the Yule Ball when I was like, fourteen. A whole bunch of us did the opening dance and everything,” he added, turning to look at a sniggering Teddy. “And just what is so funny?”

The boy laughed before doing what looked liked a distressed stagger around the kitchen. It looked uncannily like Harry’s dancing. “You?” he spluttered, still moving. “Opening dance?”

Harry opened his mouth to argue, but by then Teddy was in fits of giggles.

Felixir 09-13-2009 11:12 AM

62. Lope

Having long legs was a blessing, alright. Especially when you are Teddy Lupin, late for your own wedding. He didn’t want to run, because that would put sweat patches on his suit.

Eww.

“Drat!” Teddy muttered, cursing the Weasley’s for having such a long lane up to their house, and not letting anyone Apparate straight there. So, Teddy had to lope up their, running easily, but not heavily. He may as well have skipped.

At long last he saw the golden flag atop the marquee up ahead and knew he was there. The loping had gotten him to his Victoire.

Felixir 09-13-2009 11:23 AM

99. Newspaper

Ever since he was born, Teddy was a regular appearance in the newspaper, thanks to Harry’s fame. At first it was sweet, recording his first steps and whatnot, but then the likes of Rita Skeeter somehow found her way into that section, and Harry was forced to take action.

After having reported that the two-year old’s snatching of a toy from a friend was likely connected with abandonment issues, Harry finally succeeded in getting Skeeter fired from the prophet one and for all.

And Teddy was left out of the public eye, ready to grow up like a normal child.

Felixir 09-13-2009 12:31 PM

16. Dragonhide Gloves

“And what the heck are Dragonhide gloves?”

Teddy was in a thoroughly bad mood. After having broken the glass telescope in that stupid shop, Harry had taken charge of his shopping and whatnot, leaving Teddy to feel like a naughty child being dragged around by a parent doing the shopping.

“Gloves… made of Dragonhide, strangely enough,” Harry replied, handing over the money to pay for them.

“Oh, see I was thinking more along the lines of: EEP! DRAGON! HIDE!” Teddy replied sarcastically.

“Well, if you don’t want them, you can always handle dung in Herbology without them.”

“… Sorry, Harry.”

Felixir 09-13-2009 01:11 PM

67. Quell

“MYYYYY TOYYYYY!”

“MAIIIIIIN!”

“NO!”

“Boys!” came a yell from the doorway as Mrs Weasley bustled through. She was babysitting Teddy, James and Albus, who were nine, two and one respectively. Currently, Teddy was fighting with James for a cuddly toy, whilst Albus observed, semi-interested. The shout was enough to quell the riot that was about to break loose. “Teddy, leave it alone. I think it’s time you went and had a little sleep, if you’re cranky enough to argue over a toy.”

“NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!” Teddy yelled, tantruming and kicking out at another of James’ toys.

So much for quelling the riot.

Felixir 09-13-2009 01:57 PM

92. Chocolate

“Teddy… you look like a human chocolate bar,” Harry said in exasperation as he approached his three-year old nephew, currently attempting to eat a bowl of chocolate pieces. The attempt had failed, to be frank, and Teddy was now absolutely covered with the sugary snack. It appeared he liked the brown colour, for the boy’s eyes and her were both the same shade of the food… unless he’d gone a bit too far in his efforts to get it everywhere.

“Hawwy! Hoomin chucklit bahhhh,” Teddy repeated, still having somewhat delayed speech ability. He gave the man a chocolately grin. “Nummy!”

Felixir 09-13-2009 05:21 PM

47. Portkey

“Ughhh, but Haaarrryyyyyy!” Teddy complained, tugging on the man’s sleeve. “I haaaaate portkeeeeeeeeys!”

Rather amused by the young lad’s whining, Harry turned and bent down, so he could meet Teddy‘s eyes. “It’s a portkey or nothing, mate. If you’d rather not go see the quidditch, that’s fine with me.”

Teddy stood for a moment, pouting and in apparent turmoil. “Fine then,” he said, sulking and folding his arms across his chest. Harry was thankful; he really wanted to see the quidditch more than Teddy did. Placing their hands on the deflated football, they felt the familiar jerk behind the navel.

Felixir 09-13-2009 05:29 PM

94. Allergic

“AAAATCHOOOOO!”

Harry blinked in surprise as he stared over at Teddy. The nine-year old wasn’t one for getting colds in the middle of summer. That was… rather odd. “Are you okay Te-”

“AAAAAAAAAAATCHHHOOOOOOO!”

Apparently not.

Harry headed over to the boy who was petting a large boarhound and did a couple of diagnostic spells. Then he raised his eyebrows in surprise.

“You’re allergic to dogs.”

How convenient. Being the son of a werewolf and everything. Odd. Harry opened his mouth to say something to the boy, who was now obviously overcome with allergy symptoms. “We’ll get you a potion.”

“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATCHHOOOOOOOOOOOOO!”

Felixir 09-17-2009 11:04 AM

8. Potions

GUH! How Teddy hated lectures. From the very first potions lesson they had been taught via talkiiiiiing. Which was boriiiiiing. Up ahead, two cauldrons bubbled with apparently harmful potions. Teddy only perked up when his sensitive hearing picked up on the word ‘volatile’, causing a mischievous grin to lurk about his features.

“Nuuuuuu Teddyyyy!” a fellow first year Ravenclaw whispered as she noticed said grin. Teddy turned to her and winked, causing the girl to facepalm. Greeeattttt.

Moments later, as a couple of 6th years passed the door of the classroom, an almighty BOOM could be heard, along with…

“LUUUUUUUUUPIIIIIIIIIIIIIN!”

Felixir 09-17-2009 12:54 PM

40. Spell

“How d’you spell ‘spell’,” Teddy asked, turning to look at his godfather as he lay on his stomach doing his homework. Harry looked at him incredulously.

“Are you serious?” he asked, looking concerned. “How’ve you got through Hogwarts without knowing how to spell ‘spell’?”

“Well,” Teddy started, leaning on his elbow as he glanced around. “When we spell ‘spell’, it’s usually the kind of spell you don’t have to spell, and we have the tape that helps us to spell, as well. Whereas we say ‘spell’ and say our spells, we don’t really have to spell out the spells.”

“Swell.”

Felixir 10-02-2009 04:10 PM

9. Defence Against the Dark Arts

Okay, so in Defence Against the Dark Arts, it was all about keeping on your toes and knowing you can make yourself invisible and whatnot, right? Well, Teddy didn’t need to be invisible; he had a constant disguise. The Professor had lectured him on this when Teddy had tried to make an excuse on ditching the lesson where they were doing magical disguises and whatnot.

Soooooo… after that, Teddy made a habit of attending each and every class with a different appearance, sometimes becoming a double of another student in that class.

Teddy was surprised when that particular Professor quit.

Felixir 10-10-2009 03:28 PM

95. Snowball

WHAM!

BAM!

That’s the general sound you hear when you throw a rock hard snowball at an unsuspecting Hufflepuff. Teddy had packed the snow in tightly, his fingers numb from cold by that time, and launched it at a nearby seventh year…

Who then proceeded to tackle the thirteen year old to the ground.

“I submit! I submit!” the Ravenclaw yelled frantically, squirming when he felt the Hufflepuff shove handfuls of snow down the back of his shirt, where it slid allllllll the way down his back, nearly getting past the waistband of his jeans.

“Dude… you…”

Hufflepuffs were evil.

Felixir 12-06-2009 12:20 PM

28. Timeturner

“Sooooo… this timeturner fandango…” Teddy said, seeming bamboozled. He had just learnt of the year his godfather and the man’s friends first encountered his actual father. The story was relatively thrilling, but mind-blowing… which admittedly, Teddy found hard. He may have been a Ravenclaw… but still.

Hermione, who had been telling the story, looked at Teddy, thirteen, and tilted her head, before nodding in perfect understanding. She patted him gently on the shoulder, in a way that could have been patronising.

If only she still had a timeturner, she’d tell herself NOT to try and explain it all to Teddy.

Felixir 12-06-2009 06:10 PM

60. Joke

“It was a jooooooke!” Teddy protested, looking all innocent as his grandmother loooomed over him, with a face that quite plainly said that whatever had happened hadn’t been too amusing. She folded her arms and looked scornfully down at the boy whilst a little ways behind her Harry was nursing one eye and looked like a cauldron had exploded in his face.

“A JOKE!” he bellowed, wincing. “I’ll be lucky if I end up looking like old Mad-Eye.”

Teddy looked solemn. “Merlin rest his soul.”

Harry and Andromeda both glared at Teddy, Harry through his one good eye.

“Bed?”

“Bed.”

Felixir 12-06-2009 06:20 PM

85. Snappish

“Teddy… you seem very snappish today,” Victoire was talking to Teddy over the breakfast table one morning. It was summer, and not long since she had to leave for the Hogwarts Express. Teddy had stayed at Bill’s that night , because it was blatantly obvious that the man’s daughter and the young metamorphamagus had something going on. Teddy had slept on the sofa, and he now had a bad back.

“Snappish? I’m NOT snappish! YOU’RE the snappish one!” the boy snapped.

Victoire raised an eyebrow. “Well if you want to act like a hormonal woman until I leave…”

“NOT SNAPPISH!”

34. Parseltongue

“But… Parselmouths are evil!” Teddy was exclaiming, shocked, as his godfather told him one of the many stories of his past. The small boy was all set to go to Hogwarts in a few weeks, and Harry Potter thought it wise to tell the boy some of the less nice aspects of his past there.

Right now, the man sighed, slightly exasperated, but still willing to be patient.

“Do I seem evil to you?” he asked, raising an eyebrow.

Teddy stayed decidedly quiet, thinking of times he’d been told off. A specific joke came to mind.

“Weeeellllll…”

“Don’t even start.”

73. Warn

“Teddy, I AM WARNING YOU!”

As there usually was when the boy, Teddy, was being admonished, a giggle rippled through the house. This particular metamorphmagus had gotten hold of a certain Cloak of Invisibility and was running around the house, wearing it.

Of course, he didn’t realise it didn’t cover sound.

“TEDDY! LOOK WHERE YOU ARE GOING…”

The boy ignored the warning and slipped… straight down the stairs.

Harry had heard him make the floorboards creak at the top stair, but spoke too late. Running down to his no longer invisible godson, Harry tried to comfort him.

"I warned you."

48. Leprechaun

A small man with an irish accent floated over the heads of Teddy and Victoire, pelting them with gold coins that had no right to hurt, considering they weren’t real.

Nearby, Ron Weasley scowled and continued eating his Christmas dinner, fifteen year old son, Hugo, at his elbow. The older red-head stared at his son and then up at the leprechauns, and Teddy watched, curious. On Teddy’s other side, Harry leaned in to murmur something to him.

“Ron’s had a few, ahhhh… bad experiences with Leprechauns…”

“Then why did you tell me to hire one?”

Harry grinned, eyes shining gleefully.

Felixir 12-12-2009 03:32 PM

50. Boggart

A girlish, high-pitched scream came from a floor above, and everyone in the kitchen of the Potter household looked up. The only person absent was Teddy, but nobody was worried; the scream came from Harry’s study, the place that Teddy had been forbidden from entering.

Ginny was the first to resume reading the newspaper.

“Seems Teddy found the boggart,” she said casually, as everyone else carried on with their lives.

Not a minute later, the teen in question sprinted down to the kitchen, pale as a ghost.

Harry smiled at him. “I do believe you’re grounded.”

“But Harry-”

“You. Bed.”

Felixir 12-12-2009 03:41 PM

22. Kneazle

“STUPID KNEAZLE!” Teddy exclaimed, hopping on one foot as he tried to get rid of the pain from the dropped books. He swore loudly and made to kick Crookshanks, when Harry poked his head through the door to speak, but Teddy cut him off.

“Do NOT tell me to go to bed,” he seethed, throwing his textbooks into his trunk. Harry opened his mouth again. But-

“I will NOT apologise to Hermione.”

Again Harry opened his mouth, and again-

“I said I am NOT going to bed early.”

Harry turned away.

“Love you, son,” came his voice.

Teddy was speechless.

Felixir 12-12-2009 03:47 PM

4. Ancient Runes

“I refuse.”

“I don’t care.”

“So don’t.”

“You’re in Ravencl-”

“Don’t care.”

Hermione was trying to help Teddy choose school subjects. Or rather, lecture him into…

“I don’t WANT to take Ancient RUNES!” the boy exclaimed, scowling. Hermione glared and turned to Harry, who was ‘talking to Ron’, though the pair were trying hard not to laugh.

“Can’t you send him to bed or something?”

“Now Hermione, why would I do a thing like that?”

Hermione scowled and turned back to Teddy, whilst Harry and Ron mused on what kind of homework diary Teddy would get for Christmas from Hermione.

Felixir 12-12-2009 04:02 PM

6. Divination

The crystal ball in the centre of the table was beginning to steam up, as though some fortune teller was too close when seeing the future.

Well… that was half right.

Teddy lay with his head on the table, cuddled up close to the crystal ball, breath creating condensation on it as he murmured sleepily…

Above him slightly, the Divination professor held a glass of cold water, which he abruptly poured onto the boys face.

“EEEEP!” Teddy squealed, jumping up straight away, his hair sopping wet. He glanced around at he classmates and scowled. If only he’d taken Ancient Runes.

Felixir 12-12-2009 04:55 PM

86. Daring

“Don’t do it, Teddy!”

The young four-year-old boy was currently climbing the banister in the Potter household, ready to make his death-defying leap; the bungee ropes tied to his back (also known as his grandmother’s tights).

“And finerrleeee, the dawing Teddy Lupin makes his woyally deff-dump, into da awwwms of Hawwy Pottah!” the boy announced to his adoring audience, the daring boy about to jump.

And then he did.

“WHEEEEEEEE- ACK!”

Before the boy’s feet had left the banister, one Ron Weasley had grabbed the back of Teddy’s shirt.

“Not cool, dude.”

“WWWWWOOOOOOOOOON!” Teddy exclaimed, outraged over his ruined jump.

Felixir 12-12-2009 05:07 PM

88. Sweet tooth

Teddy Lupin ran around the house like a crazy lunatic. Up and down the staircase he went as Ginny Potter chased him with a pair of pyjamas. Harry was certain that this child was faster than a golden snitch.

“TEDDY!” the man bellowed, but the young boy only giggled, prancing around like a chocolate frog that had eaten its brother.

Waaaiiiittttt a second.

Harry rounded on Ron, who was smirking evilly.

“You gave him sugar,” the man whispered, eyes glinting evilly. Ron gave an innocent shrug and Harry flew for him. “THAT LITTLE MENACE HAS A SWEET TOOTH, YOU GIT!”

Felixir 12-28-2009 09:57 PM

27. Owl

“I want an owl.”

Harry Potter turned to look at his twelve year old godson, who had apparently gone back to his old tricks of being niiiiiice and demanding. He raised a quizzical eyebrow and closed his book which was concealing an old wizarding comic.

“What d’you say?”

“I want an owl…”

“Now, if you reeeeally want something, Teddy, what do you say?” Harry asked, speaking patiently as though he was speaking to a younger child.

“I want an owl… now.”

“No.”

This went on for another fifteen minutes until Teddy said it.

“Pleeeeeeeease?”

And Harry simply HAD to cave.

Felixir 12-30-2009 06:46 PM

38. Patronus

“What are they called again?” Teddy murmured to himself, looking through piles of notes. The sixteen year old was being uncharacteristically studious, which was proved by the copious notes he had made.

“What?” Harry asked, strolling into the kitchen and standing opposite his godson.

“Full bodied patro… patroni? Patronuses? The silver thing,” Teddy muttered, screwing up his face.

Harry raised an eyebrow. “Homework?”

“No… I want to specialise at the Ministry… to do with patro… patroni? Patronuses? Those…”

Harry nodded slowly. “And you don’t know the plural of ‘patronus’, or the whole ‘corporeal partonus’ thing?”

“Nope.”

“Good luck to you.”

Felixir 12-30-2009 07:57 PM

36. Muggle

“It was just a muggle-”

“THEODORE LUPIN! I SWEAR, IF YOU USE THAT EXCUSE ONE MORE TIME-”

“Harry, calm down…”

Teddy, who wasn’t exactly known for his good behaviour, was in Harry Potter’s after he’d gone into town for some ‘fun’. But the boy’s idea of fun was playing pranks. And a muggle had ended up in a sewer.

Harry, who was furious, but because of the boy’s reasoning, fumed. He took one look at his godson and left the room, leaving his wife to take care of the matters.

Teddy definitely needed to remember his own parentage. Whilst grounded.

Felixir 12-31-2009 08:05 PM

51. Act

Teddy sat in the Head’s office, looking miserably between the three furious looking adults..

“He’s faking! It’s an ACT…” he said. The nurse rolled her eyes, about to make a sarcastic comment. Andromeda held up her hand to silence her and shook her head.

“You can’t ‘act’ unconscious. And he won’t wake up until he’s healed. I’ve had it up to HERE with your explosions,” she said sternly. Then the Head spoke up.

“You are to leave this institution as soon as your NEWT exams are over. Expelled. Out. Anything to say for yourself?”

“Don’t try and top Weasley legends.”

Felixir 12-31-2009 08:22 PM

29. Pensieve

“Can we get a pensieve?” Teddy asked his godfather, the traditional begging look on his face. He was thirteen, and still not out of the ‘I want this… I want that’ phase. It was always Harry he went to when he wanted something. Teddy was smart enough to know that though Harry was firm, he’d react better than Teddy’s grandmother always did.

Because Harry didn’t know all of Teddy’s tricks.

“Too expensive, mate,” the man said kindly, smiling at Teddy. Best not to rile the kid up.

“But I waaaaaaaaaant to see what my paaaaaarents were liiiiiiike…”

And Harry… caved.

Felixir 12-31-2009 09:05 PM

58. Hoot

A strange hooting sound was coming from… somewhere. The Gryffindor just couldn’t work out where it was coming from. Every time he got to the exit, there it was again. As if… he was being watched by the owls.

The owlery seemed empty… no other kids. This was getting scary. A ghost? HAUNTED SCHOOL?!

Well, duhhh. It was Hogwarts.

There it was again. The boy bit his lip and turned to leave, when one of the owls moved suddenly.

It WASN’T an owl. It was a boy, half hidden, with white owl-like hair.

“HOOOOOT!” Teddy laughed, and the Gryffindor screamed.

Felixir 12-31-2009 09:30 PM

61. Kiss

She was, quite simply, beautiful. Teddy stared at Victoire as she seemed to radiate love throughout the room. She was obviously part Veela, but everyone knew that. Teddy moved closer to her, and she watched him, a smile playing on her lips. All he wanted to do was talk, right? He wouldn’t kiss her… he wouldn’t kiss her-

He kissed her.

Problem waaaaas… Teddy’s lips had barely brushed Victoire’s when the door burst wide open.

There was silence. Then…

“Ewwwww! Get a rooooom!” came the voice of thirteen year old James.

“We have one,” Teddy replied. “You’re in it. Shoo.”

Felixir 01-01-2010 01:15 AM

71. Untie

“What is the POINT of even WEARING these stupid things?” Teddy complained, tugging fiercely at his tie. He spluttered, raising his chin. “I have NEVER been able to untie them.”

Harry snorted in laughter and stepped over to Teddy, untying the knot Teddy had somehow managed. It looked more like a rescue rope. “Idiot,” the black-haired man chuckled, retying it himself.

When all was done, the two men looked at each other, the younger turning his hair bright red. They smiled at each other and left for a traditional muggle style wedding.

Teddy’s wedding.

Victoire was waiting at the Burrow.

Felixir 01-01-2010 03:50 PM

30. Feast

With his head propped up by one hand, the other hand drumming fingertips on the table, Teddy sighed. He always hated feasts; they were soooooo boring! And what sucked most was that there was no food when the speech was given, and then they had to wait until EVERYONE was done eating before the feast ended.

Kids at Hogwarts were SLOW eaters.

Eyeing the mash that was still piled on his plate, Teddy had a thought.

Last opening feast for him… he’d make it goooood.

Scooping the mash up in his hand, Teddy stood up on the bench.

“FOOOOOOOD FIIIIIIGHT!”

Felixir 01-01-2010 03:57 PM

37. Animagus

“I want-”

“No.”

Teddy looked astounded as he stared at Harry. The man was sooooooo quick to judge.

“But I want to-”

“No.”

“But I want to be-”

“N-… wait… Be? Be what?”

“I. Want. To. Be. An. Animagus.”

Harry looked at his godson in a little surprise. Being a metamorphmagus wasn’t enough for him? He shook his head, chucking. There were probably safety issues… laws. Buuuut…

“When?”

“Now.”

“No.”

Teddy looked betrayed this time, and he stomped his foot. He NEVER got what he wanted, ever. Everyone was so unfair to him.

“Why NOT?!”

“Teddy, you’re six years old.”

Felixir 01-02-2010 02:07 PM

20. Hogsmeade

Time and time again, Teddy had managed to get himself into trouble. He had not, thank Merlin, been expelled… yet. He had just entered third year… it was only two months into the school year, and the first Hogsmeade weekend had JUST started…

And already that privilege was revoked.

“Ohhhh, I do love when the students get more treats,” came the happy sigh of one of the strictest teachers as he observed Teddy, sitting out a Saturday detention in the Transfiguration classroom.

“Really?” asked his colleague, looking surprised.

“Yep. More to break this lad’s spirit.”

But it wasn’t that easy.

SS100 Mini-Challenge :: Tangy

19. Wand

Teddy was not the brightest of eagles in the tower, that was for sure. Harry shook his head as he stared at his godson, who managed to get hold of a wand. He inspected the wand, looking at it in wonder. Any parent would look at their child exploring and gush over the way the child appeared to be interested in the world around them

But Teddy was fifteen.

Harry facepalmed as Teddy stuck the wand in his mouth. He made a face and spat in back out, then smacked his lips together.

“Tangy.”

Harry giggled and turned away, amused.

Felixir 01-02-2010 02:43 PM

70. Teem

“No toys today, Teddy,” Andromeda sighed, pulling on her seven year old grandson’s hand as he looked at a huge model of a fire engine. He stared and pulled on her hand, his mousy coloured hair slowly turned red.

His grandmother shoved a hat on the boy’s head, shaking her head. “It’s teeming with muggles. Too busy. No toy today,” she said firmly, and turned away, Teddy whining all the way back.

Imagine his surprise the next day when Harry turned up carrying that toy.

“I had to get it. The place was teeming with muggles.”

He winked at Teddy.

Felixir 01-02-2010 03:02 PM

98. Pyjamas

It was that time again, the time that always caused a ruckus when Teddy stayed over at the Potter’s. Bedtime. Teddy never made a fuss at home… but this was Harry.

Tonight, though, Teddy seemed very tired. The five year old yawned and held on as Harry carried him up to bed and dressed his in his wolf pyjamas. He was simply adorable. When asleep.

“G’night, daddy,” he muttered, and Harry felt his heart sink a little. He’d have to confront Teddy about that, probably in the morning. He wouldn’t replace Remus, ever.

“It’s Harry. Night Teddy.”

“’Kay. Night Harry.”

Felixir 01-02-2010 03:11 PM

44. Ford Anglia

“Shut. Up,” Teddy beamed, looking between Harry and Ron as they told him about some of the mischief they’d gotten up to at school. “A car? Are you serious? What kind?”

“Ford Anglia,” Ron announced proudly, for now he was an adult he could sound as proud as he liked about his old actions, since his mother wasn’t in the house to chastise. But his wife was… “You should look for it-”

“Uh, no,” Both Harry and Hermione, who had just walked in, said firmly. Hermione frowned at her husband. “He’s already suspended for employing your suggestions. Don’t encourage him.”

Felixir 01-02-2010 03:22 PM

79. Computer

It was new. It was shiny. It was muggle. It was technology at its highest.

Hermione Weasley sat proudly at her brand new computer. It was a Christmas present, and since everyone was spending Christmas at their family’s house, she couldn’t turn it on. And never would.

Teddy walked on past, a bottle of butterbeer clutched in his hand as he ran away from James. The ten year old tripped, the bottle went flying high over the computer…

And all the liquid poured onto the contraption.

It was wet. It was broken. It had not survived an encounter with Teddy.

Felixir 01-02-2010 03:35 PM

63. Mooch

“Gimme gimme gimme!” Teddy ordered, clawing at his best friend’s hand, trying to grab the Honeydukes chocolate the other boy currently had hold of.

“Get offfff,” he exclaimed, pushing the metamorphmagus kid’s hand away. “Quit mooching,” he added, giggling as Teddy gave him the puppy dog eyes, which was easy enough for him, being able to change his appearance. “It’ll never get you far in life,” the best friend sighed, but he grinned as he handed over the chocolate.

“I dunno… Have you ever met my godfather?” Teddy replied, stuffing the chocolate into his mouth and grinning angelically.

“Spoilt brat.”

Felixir 01-02-2010 03:45 PM

1. Herbology

Neville Longbottom got the job teaching Herbology only a few years before Teddy was due to leave the school. To Harry, it was a relief… Neville had agreed to help the boy get on the straight and narrow. Which was, actually, a LOT easier said than done.

To Teddy, it was a dream come true. He could get away with MURDER in Herbology now.

In just the first lesson, Teddy saw that Neville was indeed, in charge. Even after the test of flinging Mooncalf dung at him.

Teddy got detention.

And he was no longer convinced Neville was a pushover.

Felixir 01-02-2010 03:56 PM

82. Careful

Every year they’d said the same thing when they saw him off at the train. Be careful. Always the same. And here he was, doing the thing he’d told himself he would never do. Always telling him to be careful had just jinxed it… but Teddy had to say it.

He clapped his son on the shoulder and the little boy hugged him around the middle. He was so small that Teddy had to lift him onto the train. Or maybe that was them needing comfort.

“Be careful,” Teddy smiled softly, ruffling the boy’s hair, which turned back to blond.

Felixir 01-02-2010 04:10 PM

97. Dictionary

There was a boy lingering in the hallways that nobody had ever recognised before. That could only mean that it was Teddy. The boy’s best friend approached the boy and began blabbing to him about some kind of trick to do with books and missing pages. The unrecognisable boy stared and blinked, clueless. Teddy’s best friend also stared, and prodded his friend’s shoulder.

Yes, he was definitely real.

“What’s happening?” came a voice from behind.

“Teddy! It’s you! But… who’s this?”

“It’s my twin.”

Teddy’s friend’s jaw dropped.

“Yeah… they also took the word ‘gullible’ out of the dictionary.”

“Git.”

Felixir 01-02-2010 04:22 PM

12. Charms

“Charms…”

Teddy moved onto his next textbook, saying the subject aloud as he did. His three friends looked over at him, expecting something witty or funny, something that always happened when Teddy spoke up… and it was sometimes at his expense.

Before anything else could happen, Victoire passed the table and Teddy scrambled to his feet, running to get to her and tripping as he did so. Victoire caught him and raised an eyebrow.

“I need a bit of help with my charm,” Teddy said, softly.

“I can see that.”

Teddy went wide-eyed. “I mean… I mean Charms.”

“Yeaaahhhh… right.”

Felixir 01-02-2010 04:32 PM

2. Muggle Studies

“Do I really HAVE to do Muggle Studies, though? I am part muggle, remember?” Teddy asked, his feet up on the coffee table at Harry’s house. Harry looked at him and smiled, shaking his head. He moved over to sit beside the boy, batting his feet away.

“Oi, feet off,” he said lightly, turning to the boy as he did as he was told. “Good lad. Now. Just because you have muggle blood doesn’t mean you know it all. I didn’t know about the wizarding world. Why did you chose it if you didn’t want to take it?”

“The girls.”

Felixir 01-02-2010 04:41 PM

10. Arithmancy

“Numbahs, numbahs, who’s got dah numbahs?” Teddy muttered to himself, flipping through his Arithmancy books, growling every now and then. Soon enough, a cat became alarmed and ran off. Teddy, meanwhile, was having a lot of trouble remembering what he needed to. Why he ever thought he might pass a NEWT exam like Arithmancy was stupid. He may as well be doing Ancient Runes.

Suddenly, one of the numbers on the page started TALKING to him.

“I got da numbahs!”

Teddy closed his book. He was never staying up until 5am to do Arithmancy studying again. One hallucination too many.

Felixir 01-02-2010 07:46 PM

76. Zap

Baby Teddy giggled up at his parents as they stood over him. His mother was grinning wide from ear to ear as she held out a toy wand in front of the new baby. “Zzzzzzap!” she said in a high-pitched voice, pointing the toy at Teddy as he giggled away.

Remus looked wary. “You shouldn’t make a joke out of pointing a wand at someone…”

Tonks rolled her eyes at the baby, who found it absolutely hilarious when she did that. Pulling out her real wand, Tonks cast Silencio on her husband before looking back at Teddy. “Zzzzzap Daddy, Teddy!”

Felixir 01-02-2010 08:07 PM

72. Vex

There was no other way to put it… Teddy Lupin was chucking a tantrum. Ginny and Harry were looking after him for the next few days. Pick him up from school, get him to bed on time, yadda yadda yadda. Harry took on a huge role in the boy’s life, but Teddy still seemed to think he could get away with anything when staying there.

“I DOOOOON’T WANT CHICKEN NUGGETTTTTTSSSS!” he screamed, kicking out at a toy. Ginny tried to grab hold of him, but Harry stopped her.

“Don’t vex him… he’s a kid… it happens.”

“He’s eleven years old!”

Felixir 01-02-2010 08:23 PM

96. Socks

Considering Teddy was very young, Harry knew he had to encourage the young lad’s creativity. Maybe if he did that much, the boy wouldn’t turn out to be much of a troublemaker. So, he was watching a puppet show, with handmade puppets. Teddy had even turned his hair green and spiky to make it look like grass poking up behind the sofa.

Okay, he sounded strange and was making it up as he went along, but still…

Then Ginny walked through.

“Harry… why does Teddy have Ron’s socks on his hands?”

“Ohhhhh… those were gagging sounds. It all makes sense.”

Felixir 01-02-2010 08:35 PM

55. Egg on

A crowd of school students surrounded the scuffle that was happening out on the courtyard, and for once, Teddy was not involved in the fighting. He was clapping, stomping his feet and jeering and cheering when it was necessary. There came a voice in his ear.

“There’s no need to egg on-”

Teddy span around.

“GENIUS!” he exclaimed, grinning at the girl. “Someone get some eggs!”

The girl shook her head and walked away. “Not quite what I meant.”

Not long after that, two egg-covered Gryffindors entered the castle.

Teddy was behind them. All three were headed straight for detention.

Felixir 01-02-2010 09:08 PM

83. Fearful

Teddy stared up in absolute terror, fearful of the fate which lay ahead. He sprinted through endless corridors, every turn taking him into a new room. His heart pounded in his chest as he heard footsteps pounding behind him. And then, the corner he turned was most definitely the wrong one. Teddy found himself at a dead end and he froze.

Then came the booming voice.

“LUPIN!”

Again, Teddy leapt in fright and backed away as the figure approached and grabbed him by his collar. “Okay! Okay! I swear, from now on I’ll wash my feet… every now and then!”

Felixir 01-02-2010 09:30 PM

11. History of Magic

Hogwarts might have been moving on, but someone still didn’t get the hint about Binns. You’d have thought, from the atrocious exam results from nearly EVERY student that they might have sacked the ghost… Could a ghost be sacked?

Did he even still have the job? Would the contract have ended when he died?

Well… it didn’t matter. Teddy Lupin used the lesson as target practice.

In fact, when there came a meeting to discuss Teddy’s behaviour, which also addressed Teddy throwing screwed up parchment through Binns in History of Magic, Teddy had one reaction.

“I take History of Magic?”

Felixir 01-07-2010 02:48 PM

100. Homework

Leaning back in his chair in the Ravenclaw common room, Teddy gave a satisfied smile.

“Homework,” he said, looking around at his peers who were studying like good little Ravenclaws. “The water source for the fountain of knowledge. We sit here, doing our homework, being good, whilst the Gryffindors run around being brave, the Slytherins be cunning and the Hufflepuffs… do… whatever they do. I know that doing homework now, makes me a true Ravenclaw and a success.”

With that, the other students continued with their homework, and the exploding snap card tower Teddy had spent all day on, exploded.

Felixir 01-09-2010 05:04 PM

52. Bore

“YAAAAAAAAAWN!” Teddy exclaimed, shouting out the word rather than doing it. He was thirteen and finding Percy’s lecture to him tedious. The boy feigned sleep as Percy glared at him and continued his lecture about causing trouble at school. Teddy cut him off again.

“I don’t mean to be rude, Perce-”

“Whatever…”

“-but this really is a bore. Really…”

Percy bristled in indignation just as Harry arrived home, relieving Percy of babysitting duty. As soon as the dark-haired man stepped in, Percy disapparated.

“What did you do?” Harry asked.

“Just told him his lecture was boring information into my brain.”

Felixir 01-09-2010 05:15 PM

74. X-tinguish

Teddy was trying to do his homework on the aguamenti charm. The boy was getting very tired, and he now knew NOT to go for a joy ride on the Hufflepuffs’ brooms instead of doing homework. The last time he stayed up this late, doing Arithmancy homework, the numbers SPOKE to him.

In his bleariness, Teddy closed his eyes and started to dream but continued writing.

The spell x-tinguishes the x-tinguish is that how you spell x-tinguish the hippo would know the spell is water hippos water HIPPO!

Neglecting the re-reading was a crucial mistake.

His teacher… was not impressed.

Felixir 01-11-2010 09:13 PM

13. Quidditch

Furious, Teddy Lupin scowled as he was confronted by his head of house and the quidditch official.

“It wasn’t myyyy fault,” he protested.

“Teddy,” his head of house replied. “No matter how many times you change your opinion, you can’t change your quidditch skills. You’re not on the team. There are safety regulations. Stop disguising your way back to tryouts. You broke the entire team!”

The clumsy boy hung his head.

Once Teddy had left, the quidditch official took the ice pack off her bruised eye. “Only he could cause that kind of damage with Keeper’s gloves.”

Definitely Tonks’ son.

Felixir 01-11-2010 09:30 PM

21. Veela

Having a part Veela girlfriend probably seemed amazing, but Teddy found it rather annoying. He was the only person who liked Victoire for who she really was… and though the girl was like… and eighth Veela, all the boys drooled over her like a piece of meat. Teddy, who was not, in fact, the jealous type, was always there to help his girl.

Which took its toll on both of them.

“You are so paranoid,” Victoire seethed, red-faced, whilst Teddy massaged bruised knuckles.

“He was leering at you!”

Victoire rounded on the metamorphmagus, though seemed amused. “‘He’ was a tree!”

Felixir 01-26-2010 02:47 AM

31. Dress Robes

Browsing for dress robes with Teddy, with the intent to buy them, was pretty difficult. Dress robes were meant to go well with the person, to suit their personality. If you had one word that described you, you had the word to describe the robes.

Unfortunately for Teddy, that was ‘everchanging’.

Well there was another, but you couldn’t exactly get ‘troublemaking’ robes.

So now there was an argument.

“Teddy, you are NOT getting colour-changing robes.”

“Why noooooot?! I have the money!”

Harry sighed in exasperation.

“That’s not the point.”

“And why is that?”

“Colour-changing dress robes don’t exist.”

Teddy pouted.

Felixir 01-31-2010 11:37 AM

45. Torch

Surrounded by his godfather’s kids, all of whom loved him dearly, Teddy switched off all the lights in the room and sat among them. The boy was fourteen, and evilness was his forte.

The metamorphmagus could change his appearance, which you’d think would be the best tool for the ghost story he was about to tell. But he had something else.

When he got to the part in the story where he let out a scream, Teddy shone a muggle torch under his chin, lighting his features from below.

The Potter kids screamed and ran to their father.

“Dang!”

“TEDDYYYYYY!”

90. Present

Sighing, Teddy set down his History of Magic essay on top of his Divination dream chart.

“You know… Harry failed History of Magic and Divination,” he pointed out to his best friend who sat beside him. Teddy didn’t actually shut up about it when he was having OWL troubles.

“I like to think it’s because the past and the future are irrelevant,” Teddy announced proudly. “It’s all about now. The present.”

“The present?”

“Yup.”

“Like… who’s stealing the present Victoire got you out of your bag?”

Teddy spent the rest of the evening chasing after the third year thief.

65. Ooze

“Ewwwwwww!” Teddy exclaimed as he watched his grandmother make a potion. Then, he sneezed.

Wrinkling her nose at her four year old grandson, Andromeda resisted the urge to tell the boy to cover his mouth when he did that. He was, after all, sick.

Looking down at the potion ingredients, Dromeda saw that the frog’s guts were slowly oozing out of the body… and the woman couldn’t help but compare it to the way Teddy’s nose was oozing…

“S’not nice!” Teddy exclaimed.

Oh and how he did exclaim (LOUDLY!) later when he found out he’d have to drink this potion.

75. Yodel

He’d tried this before, and now he was trying again.

Singing was really not something Teddy liked other people knowing he liked… if that made sense… and so he always practiced in private. But today, he had to be extra careful. He was staying at Harry’s house, and those kids, especially Lily, had sharp hearing.

Just as Teddy was humming out the scales, he heard a sudden silence from the next room… if that was possible. Deciding to pretend it was nothing, Teddy started his favourite song… when the door crashed open.

“YODELAYHEEEHOOOO!” chorused the Potter kids.

“I’M NOT YODELLING!”

39. Duel

“Pleeeeeeeeeeeease!” Teddy begged.

“No,” came the reply that made Teddy think ‘No’ was his name.

“Puhhhleeeeeeeeeeeeease!”

“Teddy-”

“PLEEEEEEASE!”

It was the same kind of interaction that Teddy and Harry often shared. Today, Teddy was begging for a chance to duel his Godfather, whom he had learned was pretty epic at duelling. Whom EVERYONE had learned the same thing about.

“Teddy, no. One day. Not today,” the man said with a tone of finality.

His godson seemed rather put out. “Why noooooot?” the boy whined childishly. He was amazing at duelling. Kind of. Harry just didn’t KNOW that.

“Teddy. You’re seven.”

69. Slap

SLAP!

The fifteen year old recipient of a slap from his girlfriend reeled. One side of his face had a pink handprint on it, and the boy’s hair turned red with his anger.

“What was that for?!” Teddy Lupin asked, voice high and indignant. The girl he was speaking to was not Victoire. No… Victoire was his on and off girlfriend… This girl had just realised Teddy was in love with Victoire… and she was not happy.

“For being…” she stalled, looking for an insult to throw and finding none.

“An amazing boyfriend?”

“A PIG!”

“That’s a bit harsh.”

SLAP!

57. Gape

The three boys peered into the cavernous cave.

“HALLOOOOO!” one of them yelled, causing many echoes to reverberate back at them, repeating the greeting. Each little boy stared with shining eyes.

An adventure.

The entrance seemed to gape at them at the total surprise that they were even there, and when the smallest boy stepped forwards, he almost fell into the saltwater… if it wasn’t for Teddy.

Teddy who yelled at his sons as they gaped at him, not knowing he could be so mad.

For the Lupin boys had tried to explore what Harry had called… the Horcrux cave.

64. Nap

Harry Potter was facing his worst nightmare.

Trying to make a cranky Teddy Lupin take a nap.

“Nooooo Hawwy, I dun wannaaaaa,” the small boy whined, changing his hair from blond to the exact shade of the table he currently hid under. Harry saw him anyway and lunged for him, but the small boy was quick and Harry ended up turning the table over.

Teddy’s eyes went wide.

“GIIIIIIINNYYYYYYY!” he yelled, running into the kitchen. “HAWWY BWOKED DA TABLE!”

When Ginny rushed into the living room, carrying Teddy, Harry just glared.

“Give. Him. A. Nap.”

Teddy didn’t argue this time.

42. Portraits

The first time Teddy ever went to Hogwarts, he was not eleven years old. Heck, he wasn’t even eleven months old. Harry took Teddy on a tour of Hogwarts not after the final battle.

Since, at that time, Harry was practically a deity in the wizarding world, the portraits all flocked to see him, something Teddy found amusing to watch, reaching out for them and trying to grab the portrait subjects in his chubby fists.

Until he saw the werewolf portrait, which lunged for him, causing the boy to scream, though the portrait wasn‘t real.

Harry had smiled.

Ironic, no?

80. Graveyard

The graveyard was one of the few places that Teddy wasn’t hyperactive. He stood, seventeen, staring at Remus and Tonks’ tombstone.

Harry stayed back. He could remember when he went to visit his own parents’ graves for the first time. This time wasn’t the first for Teddy, but still…

Watching from the gate, Harry observed Teddy speaking to the gravestone. Curiously, the boy left an envelope on the grave before leaving.

Later, Teddy revealed that the envelope held his NEWT results. And that his parents would have been proud of his straight O grades.

Even if he HAD been expelled.

68. Roar

Taking Teddy to the zoo was, perhaps, the biggest mistake of Harry’s life.

The boy had, predictably, ran off in search of the exciting animals. What did he want to see lizards for? No way; LIONS were his game. His Daddy had been a Lion. And Harry was a Lion too.

As he sprinted through the crowds, Teddy’s hair changed to a mane and his eyes became catlike.

Finally, he reached a chain link fence.

“Rawrrrrr,” he whispered, like a true predator.

“ROARRRR!”

He was right by the lion’s den.

Teddy had been ROARED at by a REAL LION!

“AWESOME!”

93. Chicken

Harry twitched.

Ginny yawned.

Teddy would not shut up.

“Teddy!” Harry finally exclaimed, sick to death of hearing about the chicken in the garden showing the metamorphmagus its home and wordly possessions. The small boy looked at his godfather with adoration in his eyes. “Do you have a word count of one million you have to reach every day?” the man asked, and, with a mock sigh, he picked up the boy. “I admire your imagination but-”

“THERE HE IS!” Teddy screeched, pointing out of the window where a chicken indeed stood.

Harry smiled, twitching.

“Go play with your friend!”

91. Future

Staring out over the courtyard of The Burrow, after the party that followed his wedding, Teddy held tightly to the wooden fence. Tears swam in his eyes, and he blinked them out.

And then Harry was right beside him.

“What’s up with you?” Harry asked, and Teddy bowed his head. He had everything. Wife, future kids, loving family. But was that really it?

“What’s next?” the metamorphmagus asked.

Harry smiled and placed his arm around his godson’s shoulders. “The world takes a new face for you… like you. Look forward.” Harry took a sip of butterbeer. “What’s next? The future.”
