Brianna had been watching the woman closely, which was entirely natural given that this woman had had a lot happen to her in the past fifteen minutes. She watched as her eyes slid out of focus and a sleeping sort of blankness flickered across her features. Something is not right here, she thought to herself. "I'm sorry Royda, could you repeat that, I'm afraid I couldn't write quickly enough to keep up with you." She had her clipboard still gripped in one hand, where it had been for most of the morning. "Start right back where you started this time, please." She smiled encouragingly and raised her quill to the clipboard, but kept her eyes on Royda's eyes.

Shai smiled at both women, "As you like it," She said to Miss Melvicks. She then turned to Royda and smiled, "Well if you would like any more water or anything, please let me know."

Shai watched her boss carefully over her shoulder. She was also taking notes. Something was definitely wrong here, Shai thought, Royda seems to have been threatened or brought here forcefully. Shai looked up and met Royda's gaze after she was done speaking. She seemed a bit dazed. "Is everything alright Royda?" Shai asked after Brianna asked her re-asked her question.

Piper sat back at her office after her boss fixed her problem. Piper why did you lose your temper... You will surely get fired now... Piper thought to herself. She then took her wand and flicked it silently as a paper and a pen appeared in front of her. The pen started righting everything that was happening on the piece of paper... Everything that Miss corranda, Brianna and Royda were doing and saying. I hope that will fix everything up she thought as she looked at Royda.
Strange... She seems to be forced to say that something is missing... But what?

Royda bit her lip, certain that she had messed up something. Slightly hesitant, she began again, "Corrandadada cast her spell on me -" Her eyes flickered - "I couldn't see her for, like, forty minutes after that. Not until I began to see one of her hands, that is. Then her other hand appeared, then the rest of her, all in one."

She paused, and placed a hand to her forehead. "I-" Then she smiled and shrugged. "Nothing worth mentioning, I guess."

Royda removed her hand from her forehead. She was feeling a little dizzy, today... However, she nodded in response to Shai's question. "Yeah, everything alright here, thanks."

Brianna stared hard into the girl's eyes as she spoke and notice that there was still a flicker, though it might have been just that she didn't like Miss Corranda very much. Brianna really couldn't blame her there, but it still made her slightly uneasy. She spoke quietly, "Was that the only time you've seen this particular charm performed?" Her gaze strayed over to Corranda to gauge her reactions to these questions, hoping to catch some hint of something--anything--that would be enough to keep from approving this charm. Doubts were all well and good, but she needed actual proof of subversive motives or dangerous charms to disprove a charm, and it didn't look like she was getting much so far, except the uneasy feeling.

Royda shook her head, the pain in her head growing stronger, though she showed no signs of it. "No, hon, it wasn't the only time," she said naturally. "I've seen it, like, thrice. The third time it happened, though, the effects lasted for nearly forty-five minutes. Corrandadada said she was, like, getting better at it."

Corranda sat in her seat, silent and lips pressed together. Her face showed no suggestive emotion - just the plain, partly blank expression that suggested she was listening to Brianna and Royda's conversation with the usual, understandable and natural interest.

Her eyes strayed over to Royda when she placed a hand to her forehead, though, and she frowned slightly, even if only for less than five seconds. The fact was, she knew what was happening here: like so many times before, Corranda had been using one of her non-verbal, self-made memory charms to modify Royda's memory and make her say what Corranda wanted her to say. But that spell always had been too strong. She had never even tried to get it Ministry-approved, because she had known it had side-effects. Royda's headache, for example.

Still, it was necessary, right now. Corranda had to cast it, if she wanted her spell to get approved. There was simply no other spell through which she could bring Royda under her own influence without resorting to wands and the like. And, even if there was, Corranda, at least, did not know of it.

She knew the woman in the room were getting suspicious, though, and so she kept her most natural countenance. Truth was, Royda hadn't even been a witness to her spell - Though she had definitely been someone the 'real' spell had been tested on, even if Royda was unaware of that, now.

She leaned back a little in her chair and then said, very loudly and more than just a little impatiently, "Wulll? Isn't my spell approved yet, eh? I'm a hundred and nine and you shouldn't keep me waiting for so long, what with your seaweed water and all!"

Piper looked at both Corranda and Royda. This calm face... This confusion... She might be... But that is impossible... It is even out of law... Piper you have already messed stuff around... Can't repeat the thing two times... But that calm face... She never had a calm face... And the other, she looks so confused..." Piper thought but she prefered to stay silent. You have done too many mistakes... One more and you will surely get fired... Piper just shut u..."
"I guess miss Corranda we still need you to practice the spell, or isn't it necessary miss Brianna?" Phoenixis asked hoping that her boss would approve. I will found out the bottom of this... One way or another...

Jayden smiled at Piper but in an instant the scene changed. An old hag and what looked to be a scared drama queen was screaming infront of her. She furrowed her eyebrows. She watched as a silencing spell was placed onto the screaming Miss Royda. That was funny and Jayden had to stiffle a laugh.

She dismissed the scene and went to her desk. She had to get some of this paper work done or the Minister was sure to giver her a boot!

Brianna accepted the explanation from Royda and nodded. "Well, if she's seen the spell three times, and lived to tell about it, I'm sure that the spell can't be lethal." She paused and glanced back down at her clipboard, "Everything else seems to be in order here..." She bit her lip, pondering the situation, "Can you give us a simple test? After that, I see no reason not to approve the charm." She set down the clipboard and looked back up at Miss Melvicks. I can't believe I am actually considering approving this charm, Brianna thought to herself, allowing a flicker of doubt to cross her features, But there's nothing I can do, it's all legit. She sighed. It was her first day back from vacation and she already had a splitting headache.

Corranda glanced briefly at Piper when the latter spoke, then turned to Brianna, her face regaining some of its expression.

"Ha! I knew you'd have to approve it! And no thunkks to any of you about it, either." She stood up, whipping her wand out. Then she looked at everyone in the room, Royda included, before speaking up again.

"I guess I should just try it on Royda again, eh? I'm a hundred and nine, by the way, and you shouldn't argue with me about that," she added, loudly.

Jayden looked up. The old hag now had her wand out. She was goign to do that spell. But the spell was legit. But she shoudltn use it on a person that they could be reliable for. "M'am. Im going to have to ask you to put your wand away." she said standing up and presenting herself to her full height. "You are not allowed to cast spells in this office without permisson."

Shai opened her mouth then closed it again. She was looking at Jayden in disbelief. I cannot believe she just said that! Brianna gave her permission!

Shai felt she had no choice but to speak up. She whispered to Jayden, "Dear, Miss Brianna gave her permission to test the charm out on Royda. It is necessary, in order to, you know, see if we should approve the charm or not." She smiled mournfully at Jayden knowing full well they were both thinking the same thing, that Brianna could not be considering approving this charm.

Shai thought quickly, then said, "Should we get someone in here from Accidental Magic Reversal? You know, just in case?" Shai suggested, "You never can be too careful, right Miss Brianna?"

She brushed her hair back and waited for a response.

Brianna glanced at Miss Melvicks and opened her mouth to say that she would rather ask Miss Royda if she was okay with the test being performed on her when she heard Jayden tell her to put away her wand. Her eyes closed wearily, this was going to be a long afternoon. When she heard Shai explain that she had, in fact, given her permission to cast the charm, she opened her eyes again and refocused on Miss Melvicks. "If Royda does not have a problem with that, then I guess it is okay. We have the reversal squad just down the hall." Turning to Shai, she added, "Don't worry about getting them for now, but if something does go wrong it will be your responsibility to run down there and get someone, pronto. Okay?" She pressed her fingers against her temples, they were really pounding now.

This time, even Corranda was surprised. And not just surprised, either - for the first time since she had set foot in this office, Corranda was actually offended. Yes, offended.

- As if she had a right to be.

"Go wash your ears, my dear miss," she said loudly. "Your Head gave me permission." She snorted at the woman, and turned her back on her.

Royda looked at Corranda with large, surprised eyes. Then she nodded, and said to the room at large, "It's A-okay, honeys. This can't possibly be, like, the end of the world, can it?"

It couldn't - Right?

Corranda grunted, raising her wand. "No, it can't - Concealo Incantait."She said the words out loud, the tip of her thirteen inch long wand directed towards Royda. There was a puff of grey smoke, and then Royda winced, slightly. She turned to Brianna, and said loudly, "She can't see me now. Can you, Royda?"

Royda looked around the room, then made a sour face. "Where's Corrandadada? Aw, man, now I can't see her. Does that mean she's up to something sneaky again?"

Corranda glared at Royda. "Oi! I can still see you and hear you. Better keep that mouth of yours under control. I'm a hundred and nine, and you shouldn't pile up all sorts of baseless allegations on me, you know, thunkkkk you."

Brianna could still see Corranda quite clearly, so there wasn't any side affects to bystanders. She turned to Royda, "So you truly cannot see Miss Melvicks at all?" Her gaze slipped back over to Corranda. In fact, it was quite a well thought out charm, considering who had invented it. She tapped her finger against her chin. Though everything within her was roaring to say no to this disagreeable woman, she didn't have any basis to do so. And Corranda knew it. She sighed and waited for Royda's answer, this answer would decide the course of the approval or disapproval of this charm.

Jayden shut her mouth. She had indeed been concentratin on her work and didnt hearBrianna tell her she could use the spell. She sighed and looked back down at the papers on her desk. She settled back down and ran a hand through her hair. This was not going to be a good day.

Royda turned to Brianna in a semi-perplexed way, as if half expecting Brianna to vanish from sight any moment, too. "Hey, I can still see you, man," she said finally. Then she added, looking in all four directions and pouting, "Yes, I really can't see Corrandadada. Corrandadada, where are you?"

"Nothing you should be worried about," Corranda shot from her end of the room. She was breaking her concentration, Royda. Corranda had never cast her 'Specific Concealment Charm' at the young woman in the first place. The Imperius curse, rather, under cover of her so-called, new, self-made charm. She was good at it, inventing new charms, excellent, actually - but not ones that were useless. Evil charms that recked your whole house, yes, but charms that could actually do something right?

Nope, loud and clear.

She turned to Brianna, eyes still on Royda who should have been able to see her but couldn't under the influence of her unforgivable curse, and spoke up, her voice loud as usual. "You want to wait out until the charm wears off? Or do you want to test the counter-charm as well?"

Brianna sighed in frustration. She'd been looking for a sign-any sign-that would allow her to disprove the charm, but she'd been unable to find one. Her hopes of finding one were getting even slimmer. She nodded to Miss Melvicks, "Go ahead and cast the countercharm so we can see if it works, but judging by the effectiveness of this charm I have no doubts that it will." She looked over at her employees, especially at Piper. She hoped that Piper didn't believe this was how approving charms always went. It was usually a rather fun process with interesting people and chatting, and lots of coffee and laughter...this was far from a normal case. As a matter of fact, Brianna wanted nothing more than to get the woman as far from her as possible, but that required either approving or disproving the charm, and from the looks of it, approving it was in order here. She smiled, hoping that her attempt at a smile didn't look like the grimace she was feeling, and tried to make the best out of the situation. The worst that could happen was the old witch would leave her office--and that suited her just fine.

Faster Piper... What is wrong in this scene? Why is it so strange that a person can act in such cold matter when they have been hexed or placed under a charm... No something must be wrong? Piper thought as she looked at miss Brianna. Can't believe she is going to approve the charm... But I would there isn't a thing wrong with it... Nothing except the cool face of Royda, and the concentration on Corranda's face... I wonder why is that?

Shai was watching carefully for any excuse to go get the Accidental Magic Reversal Squad...or at least just a member of it for now. She noted that Royda still seemed dazed, but she tried to push that from her mind. She looked nervously around the room for any reason to shout out that the charm shouldn't be approved. She sighed as silently as possible then looked around the room. She smiled a little and hoped it didn't look forced or like a grimace.

Jayden looked up from her desk to she the old woman, the hundred and nine year old one.

Corranda resisted the growing temptation to cackle at Brianna's words and her weary submission, and near approval. Instead, she raised her wand, directed it towards Royda, and said the counter- charm out loud.

"Concealo Incantait!"

At once, Royda blinked. Then she looked around and said, "Corrandadadada! How come you're back so soon, man? I thought you had, like, disappeared for some time." Then the blue-eyed, dressed-in-blue, young woman turned towards Brianna. "Is this all, honey? Though I admit I've, like, no idea what all of you are doing."

Corranda smirked inwardly, really cackling out loud this time. She was so happy, she wanted to cackle all over again, but wisely refrained from doing so. "So," she asked Brianna loudly. "What's your verdict, Head-o? I'm a hundred and nine, and you shouldn't keep me waiting this much!" She added, in her usual, barking way.

Brianna smiled weakly at Royda, "Thank you so much for your cooperation. You are free to go. Without your help we would have been unable to approve this charm. If you'd like to return to your shopping there is a mall just a block or so outside the ministry." She turned to Corranda, and though the words felt bitterto her lips, she had to say them, "Miss Melvicks, I must congratulate you. You proved that your charm is both useful and that it works. Your charm is going to be approved." She stood up and walked over to her desk, noticing that her head was truly throbbing now, and opened the top drawer on the left and pulled out another form. This one was the approval form, which she immediately began to fill out.

She added this form to the top of the clipboard and turned to Miss Melvicks, "All I need is your signature and you are good to go. Just sign on the bottom line and I'll file the approval." She was still disappointed that she had been unable to find anything to warrant a disproval of the charm, but there was nothing she could do about that.

Royda smiled at Brianna, large, blue eyes twinkling merrily. She felt so much better, now... In fact, her headache was beginning to recede. "Yeah, I think I'll leave," she said, nodding. "But with Corrandadadada, now. Corrandadadada let's go, man. I mean, you brought me here, now take me back, too."

Something like a grin flitted across Corranda's countenance, though it soon faded into an unnaturally loud cackle. Cackle. Cackle. Cackle. "I do adore my spell so," Corranda said loudly. "No thunkkks to you, though," she added, sourly.

She accepted the form Brianna was offering her and, tilting her tall, pointed witch's hat to the left again, administered a large, curly signature at its very bottom. Then, handing it back to Brianna, she cackled loudly again, absolutely ignoring Royda and her words. When her spell had been approved, who cared about Royda, really!

"I think a drink of celebration is in order," she barked at the top of her lungs, whipping out a large, conical flask from the depths of one of her many large, fishy-looking robe pockets. The liquid inside was a clear colour, perfectly resembling fresh, warm butterbeer.

"Who wants some Hogsmeade taste?" Corranda asked, waving the flask and, seemingly conjuring several, small goblets which hovered in midair in front of her out of her pockets, poured some of the liquid within the flask into each. "Now, Shai, Pipewood, Bri-o-anina, Jo-ay-don, who wants a drink?" she asked loudly.

Her tones made it clear that if any of them refused, she would be most displeased. As if to give words to this feeling, she immediately added in a loud, loud voice, "I'm a hundred and nine, and you shouldn't refuse me, eh!"

Brianna's head was still throbbing, and she really didn't want a drink. Especially since it was coming from a woman she particularly didn't like. But she accepted a small goblet and clasped it in her hands. She waited to see if her employees were going to be polite or if they would refuse the drinks. Maybe she had misjudged corranda, maybe she was just a little crazy, not mean or vindictive.
