He tries. In his mind, he pictures the Cup. Lifts it above his head. But a chorus of Weasley is Our King breaks his concentration. His mind travels and a spot on his cheek seems to warm in memory of his first game. Likewise, his chest feels hot, his head dizzy.

“Expecto Patronum!”

It’s not fully corporeal, but a silver Jack Russel terrier bursts forth and lingers a moment.

Harry, Ron, and Hermione jump and cheer; Ron’s stomach shifts a little as he grins at Hermione.
