49. Wingardium Leviosa
Fred and George glared at McGonagall from the back of the classroom. It wasn’t right for her to give them detention for speaking their mind. Usually teachers encouraged free expression. To make it even worse, she had given them the lousy task of writing lines.
The twins looked at each other and suddenly an idea seemed to pop into both of their heads at the same time. George pulled out his wand and pointed it at McGonagall's hat. He whispered, “Wingardium Leviosa” and watched as her hat floated off of her head.
Fred began to chuckle because she didn’t even seem to notice that her hat was missing from her head. She shot a glare at the two of them and Fred sat there holding back laughs. George started to make the hat float higher and higher, making it harder and harder for Fred to control his laughter.
They kept receiving glares every now and again, but McGonagall never realized why they were laughing. Once they finished, George replaced the hat on her head and walked out the door without her knowing. The twins laughed all the way down the hallway at her ignorance to the floating hat.
