Vashti wasn't sure what had happened, but it was clear her friend Trixie Malfoy wasn't alright. She looked downright awful, all tears and mascara and more tears. And if this was how she looked on the outside, it was a feeble hope to think that she looked worse on the outside than inside.

The Ravenclaw didn't hesitate; she rushed over to where her friend sat. "Trixie," she said with all the concern she could muster, forgetting her own problems and worries for the moment because her friend needed her. She placed a gentle hand on the girl's shoulder. "What's wrong?"

She watched Oliver leave, and then Trixie just break down completely. Iris frowned and sighed, sadly.

She looked back to Aaron and Alex. "I'll be back in a little while... Save my seat, will you?" Then, without bothering to wait for an answer, Iris walked over to where the older girl was sat, crying, with her head on the table. For a moment, Iris just stood there, coming to the realisation that she had NO clue as to what she was going to do. A plan probably would have been the clever thing to do, but Iris didn't think to do that. "Um... Hey...." Yeah, just make it known that your stood behind her, Iris.

Iris sat down in the spot that the Head Boy have been sat in just moments before, and gently put her hand on Trixie's shoulder. "Hitting the table like that probably won't do your head any favours." Iris looked up at the Ravenclaw that'd just sat on the other side of her and asked what was up, and gave her a look that desperately tried to explain what'd just gone on between Trixie and Oliver. Then, she turned her attention back to Trixie. "Trixie sit up, please... It's gonna be all right... I'm sure it will..." Geez, how much of an eavesdropper did Iris look NOW?!

Gently, she took Trixie's shoulder to pull her head away from the wood, and pulled her into a hug, looking to the Ravenclaw for words of encouragement and consolation... Even though it'd probably be really hard to do that, when you don't have a clue what just went on.

It hurt. It really hurt.

Her Bestie wasn't coming back. Ever. And she seemed to have blocked everything around her out as she sat there, head on the table sobbing. She didn't care who saw, the Professors could have been watching for all she knew, but all her mind was concentrating on was what she had just done. How foolish she had been, what an idiot she had just become.

She heard the Ravenclaws voice first and although she couldn't show it, she was incredibly pleased it was the voice of someone she knew, someone who she cared about. Vashti. Although a audible answer to her question would have been completely impossible. There were a lot of things wrong. The seventeen year old opened her mouth to answer the question, head still down on the table but nothing came out.

It was then she heard another voice. One that wasn't familiar this time. She kept on crying, though she felt herself being pulled up and flung into a hug, so she hugged back, surprised to see it was the Slytherin prefect, Iris was it? She dragged Vashti in to, hugging them both, sobbing and probably getting their clothes incredibly wet.

"I..I love him" the Slytherin cried, her voice no more than a small whisper, quavering as her bottom lip quivered. This was absolute torture.
