He watches her climb on to the stool, and his fingers cross at once. She sounds smart. Pompous, a bit of a show-off, but she seems intelligent enough. Maybe she’ll be a Ravenclaw. That’s where all the smart, brainy, booky kids wind up, right? With fingers crossed, he hopes and hopes; she can’t be part of his house. His house! Like all the other Weasleys!

The very idea of sharing a Common Room with her fists his hands.
