"It could keep you company," Cause from what she could see, it was just him in the office. Him and his rubber ducks. "Like a dog or cat....only not them. A different kinda pet." Nod.
And she could help him pick out this new pet duck. Mmhmm.
Her eyes lingered on the spot where the rubber duck had sat before drifting to the professor. If there was any oddness in his reaction to her staring at the duck it went unnoticed by the young girl. "Kinda weird," she responded, grin still present as her eyes flicked to the case of rubber ducks. "But not too weird. I used to collect stickers." That wasn't weird like rubber ducks, but it was a collection. A big collection. For Jeremy, 'A duck to keep him company' translated to 'an animal to always be around and annoying him until he would throw it out of the window'. They could fly right? And if not, he wasn't that high up. Okay, it would probably be easiest - and best for the duck - not to get one in the first place. "I'm not much of an...animal person to be honest." Maybe Arya should get Maya a duck or maybe HE should get Maya a duck. Heh.
Grinning slightly in relief as Arya seemed to have missed his putting the baby!rubberduck away, Jeremy nodded slowly at her agreeing. "I know right? But I've always done it, always since...well, always really." Since his granddad had died really but that wasn't important. "Stickers? What kind of stickers? Or just...all of them?" He asked curiously, glad to get away from the rubber duck subject. ~~~~~~~~~Process of cloning Jeremy...completed! *dundundun*~~~~~~~~ Quote:

And she was oddly enough going to miss them over the summer.
Which she guessed was why she was there... To say goodbye. Strange, considering it wasn't really goodbye - she'd see him in a month or two, right? Knock, knock.
Well there was no turning back now. Jeremy was sitting in his office with a quite content smile on his face. Even though, the idea of moving here had had different reasons - and not exactly particularly positive ones - he was really really glad to have done it now. It was exactly what he needed. Now, however, the term was almost over which meant he had to go back home...orrrrrr- Knock, knock
Before he was able to finish the thought, he was interrupted by a knock on the door. It was probably some student wanting to say goodbye. They were all so adorable. Well, most of them. Getting up from his seat, Jeremy went to open the door with a warm smile on his lips...which grew slightly into a grin as he saw who it was, standing outside his office. "Fina! Pleasure to see you. Please, come in." He took a step back, motioning for her to go inside so he could close the door behind them again. |
