Oh didn't she know it. Using magic on others had disastrous effects. Mia was sure that her poor father would never be the same again after being on the end of her rather unfortunate mishaps. But then he had been her teacher and it was to be expected, right?
"Yeah but sometimes it can't be helped. I don't have a terribly good aim." She looked over at him and grinned, "But I am getting better." She just had to confirm that so he didn't think she was a total klutz when it came to magic.
Mia felt like a total idiot now for making such a big deal out of it, she could see that Raiden looked uncomfortable now. "It's okay. It actually feels a little better telling someone instead of keeping it to myself all the time." And really even if she had of lied, Raiden would have seen straight through. Mia couldn't lie if her life depended on it.
She fidgeted in her seat as Raiden spoke and she let out a long deep breath. "I know that. It's just never happened to me before." Mia paused and a small smile played on her lips at his question. "I made myself a rule not to get involved with a boy. Well not yet anyway. I think I am far too immature for anything like that. I didn't want the mixed emotions that go with liking someone that much. You know the ups, the downs, the happy giddy feeling and then the heartbreak feeling. I liked my life to be simple and carefree."
Letting out a small groan, Mia tipped her head back and looked up at the ceiling. "But I guess my heart had other ideas." And trust her to pick the one guy that was going to be leaving very soon and she was likely never to see him again.
Looking back at Raiden, she gave him a small smile. "I'm sorry, you don't want to hear about all this." She chewed on her lip for a moment while thinking of something else to talk about. "So what are your plans once you graduate?"
