He hadn't met anyone at school yet, and he wanted to know a few names, of real people and not imaginary ones, that he could at least mention his parents. Rose entered the Common Room, looking around for anyone she knew. No luck there. She looked with interest at two boys, practising spells by the fire. She walked over, and watched as one of the boys sent a toy spider zooming across the desk. That was pretty cool. She smiled, and perched on the arm of a chair near the boy.
'That was really cool,' she said warmly, and listened closely as he explained to the other boy.
