Smiling towards the Hufflepuff, Evelyn moved closer to the empty-ish tank and farther away from the other two Slytherins.
With a notebook in one hand and her pencil in the other, she opened it up to a blank page before looking at the tank. Was there anything in it? Like...for real? Tilting her head to the side, the Slytherin glanced towards Mia out of the corner of her eye before looking back towards the cause for the concentrated look on her face. A small smile did appear though, tugging the side of her lips up into what at least could be called a fake smile. Even though it wasn't.
"So...are you the cause that I haven't seen Marie in awhile?" she asked, raising a brow. "Or has she met some new guy that we don't know about." She didn't mind if it were either. Just the guy...could Marie like a guy that Evelyn actually liked? Or can put up with civilly? As in, no thoughts of hatred or dislike towards him? Would make it soooo much easier.
Well at least the girl was smiling. That was a good sign, right? Encouraged by this and also hearing Marie's voice from across the room, Mia moved a little closer to Evelyn.
Even though she knew that Evelyn would likely push her into the onslaught of Marie if the girl should happen to come over this way after she was done yelling at Destiny.
Mia glanced guiltily over her shoulder at the other two girls and felt extremely bad now for bringing that up. But she had honestly forgotten about that whole situation until the moment it had left her lips.
Turning back to Evelyn, Mia's mouth dropped open slightly at the Slytherin girl's question. She blinked a couple of times before finally answering. "I...well...we have hung out a couple of times." Mia was unsure of why she felt defensive all of a sudden. It wasn't like she was purposely taking Marie away from anyone.
"I have been trying to help her get over Carter." She shrugged her shoulders and looked over to Destiny and Marie again before returning her gaze to Evelyn. "I introduced her to Salander but I honestly have no idea if they are seeing each other." Mia bit on her lip and shifted her gaze to the tank in front of her and instantly recognising what was inside.
Writing down the description of the creature, Mia spoke again without looking up. "I consider Marie my friend but I really don't think that I am the cause as to why you haven't seen her."
Damn these Slytherins were hard to be friends with.
