If being himself was doing something wrong then yes, he had done something very wrong. Katie shook her head, "No, you haven't done anything wrong." Not yet, anyway.

As much as she wanted to continue facing anywhere but at him, something drew her back in, maybe his words or the topic itself that she was so desperate to change, or even the unfamiliar, unwelcome feeling of vicious butterflies trapped inside her or even manners, because she had them and it was just a bit rude to stare at anything and everything but the boy you were dancing with. No matter what the reason, Katie's dark eyes did come to focus on Legend again, her chin tilted upward just a little bit to see him properly. He was much taller than her, and rather than heels (which she had worn for the first time last term's ball) she had worn ugg boots that went with her costume. It was a sad day when Katie knew Legend was right, and couldn't even deny it. "I'm sorry." That's all she really could say, there was no way that she could explain her reasons to him, Legend of all people.. She'd made a mistake that day, going to him with what seemed like such a simple, innocent question. She'd dug herself a hole, and now she didn't know how to climb out of it. "I'm.. sorry, alright? I didn't mean.. it wasn't like that, you make it sound worse. It wasn't because of anything you said or didn't say or did or didn't do, I can't.. - why can't I hide from liking someone?" Katie fixed him with a serious look, "Why not? What if it's the right thing to do, Legend?"
That didn't seem to convincing. Legend had half the mind to ask what was her problem, and half the mind to stop dancing altogether, but he wouldn't. The fifth year sighed. This wasn't fun at all. He needed like...Wolverine or something to get him out of this mess. He had never really understood Katie. But she was even harder to understand now! And if the girl thought that she wasn't turning into one of those confusing weirdo teenage girls. Then she was absolute wrong. At least when she was younger it was all about fake tears and yelling. "Are you sure?" He asked with another sigh. "Yell at me if I did or say something." No wonder she had gotten so annoyed by the silent treatment last year.

And she looked at him. Which she seemed be be avoiding before. Legend had to bite his tongue to stop him from saying anything. Her eyes just looked extremely sad. Like she had given up hope on something. Legend blinked a couple of times as he tried to process the sentence. Yeah...it was still a jumbled up mess in his brain. "How..would it be the right thing to do? That's just hurting yourself isn't it?" He sighed and let go of Katie's hand. This was just too stressful. Running his hand through his hair he tried to capture all his thoughts. "I'm not a relationship expert Katie. I'm 15 and a BOY. If you need help understanding whoever you like them I'll help you sure but...I'm just as confused about everything else as you are. All I know is that hiding from anything is never the right thing to do."
