Her lips against his cheek were enough though. The burn of the tenderness continued to linger, even after she pulled away…leaving him slightly tongue tied. He missed her lips.
Scrunching up his nose like the other times she had tapped him there, he chuckled along with her. "I’m glad my panic moments amuze you." He smiled, suddenly making a mental note of her birthday. Wait, January?! He was a month late for her gift, or close around that. That, that was not good at all. Blinking a few times, he kept up the smile however he was mentally berating himself for not finding out sooner."Oh courze! It’z not everyday zat you turn seventeen." And apparently, he missed that day. But he was going to make up for it! This was going to be the best picnic, in the whole world.
His smile was slowly fading though, when it seemed she was taking awhile to repeat what she had said. Was this bad news? Perhaps it was, and she was trying to find a new way to break the ice more easily without him suddenly sinking like a rock. However, he was already starting to feel as if he were sinking.
Oh. That was, definitely not bad news. Far from it. Though, she looked so nervous and innocent sitting there, he couldn't help but smile at first. And then chuckle quietly. He was not laughing at her, oh noooo he would not do that. Especially now! He was just….HAPPY! His racing heartbeat and smiley-goofy smile was enough to prove so. It was too good to be true. Raising his hand, he gently brushed his fingers against her cheek before cupping the side of her face gently so she didn’t have the chance to look away. He loved staring into her grey eyes. "You look nervous?" he rather asked more than said, wondering if she was. Maybe, maybe not, but now some of those nerves were appearing in him. He, he needed to respond. "Je ressens la même." His words were quiet, though the meaning was obvious.
Cosette watched his skin turn a slight shade of red on his face, prompting her smile to grow even bigger. Guys had done that before, but with him it just seemed so cute. He didn't say anything, but the beauty of it was she just watched him almost look befuddled. She was glad she definitely hadn't lost her touch for wooing guys. Even though she only wanted to woo him.
"Amour," she muttered, her eyes roaming around his features. Her hands snaked there way around his neck, making her inch even closer next to him to the point she was nearly snug in his lap.
Her chuckle filled the small enclosed space around them as she twirled a finger on some of his hair behind his neck. He was handsome and utterly cute when he did the little nose scrunchy thing he did.
"You're welcome, my dear." She smiled, nodding her head to him. Now she was wondering if he had turned eighteen yet. She was so wrapped up with talking about her birthday, she never knew when his was!
"When iz your birzday? You 'ave to be turning eighteen zoon, oui?" If it hadn't passed yet, she could still think of a fabulous present for him. Something to put that guitar pick she got him to shame! Snuggling herself up to him, she looked up at him with a smile.
"I will make zome zandwiches and dezzert for uz to 'ave!" Now she was just getting to excited, her small laugh ringing from her throat.
Her eyes moved up and searched at his, noticing the giant smile that took on his features. Wait, was he happy or confused? She had absolutely no idea, she was new to this. He had to be one of the first guys she ever had feelings for, so this was something she was totally un-used too. Feeling his hand cup her chin, she looked down at his wrist, hearing his question and nodding.
"Oui. I 'ave never liked zomeone before." Her eyes flickered back up at him.
"And I like you zo much." She almost felt embarrassed for being so nervous and jittery, but upon hearing his next words, her eyes shot back up at him.
He liked her too?! Feeling the corners of her mouth tug into a smile, she couldn't help but feel a soft warm feeling erupt in her chest.
"Vous n'avez vraiment? Oh ma chère, vous ne savez pas comment cela me rend heureux!" Feeling her cheeks flush with warmth, turning her pale cheeks a soft shade of pink, she pressed herself against him in an embrace. She had no idea he had felt the same way. All she wanted to do now was hold him and kiss him and just.. everything.
