Finally. "I mean.. Reverto." she said and back came her scarf.

The little girl wrote the spell on her parchment careful to spell it right. "Vestis vellus." She murmured while checking it from the board. Oh! The movement is a simple flourish sort of curly-q. One last look down at her parchment, the girl smiled widely satisfied.

SPOILER!!: Louisa's Parchment
Transfiguration Lesson I

Incantation: Vestis Vellus.
Movement: A simple flourish sort of curly-q.
Effect: A scarf into a big warm blanket.

Louisa put the parchment aside and loosened her scarf from around her neck. Ooo! A slight shiver ran through her body but no matter in a few seconds she would wear a big thick blanket instead.

Grinning to herself, she held her wand and pointed it at the scarf lying on her desk. Cough cough. "Vestis..vellus." She said quietly….almost instantly the lights went out. Louisa blinked once…twice..thrice. Okay the lights were definitely out! "HELP ME!" The girl –under the huge blanket- screamed terrified. Who knew Louisa, the know-it-all, feared the dark?
Being buried in blankets was certainly not something Preston assumed would be a problem... but clearly, several were having difficulty. He stood a moment, watching. Surely no one would suffocate and he shouldn't step in and rescue them all the time...

Hmm...visualize more clearly. Alice took a glance at the wool blanket Professor Kingsley had on his desk. That would be a nice visual to have in mind in her next attempt. She watched as he cast Reverto, changing her scarf back to the material it was before.

"Thanks Professor Kingsley," Alice said with a smile.

She closed her eyes and pictured the same blanket on Professor Dodson's desk, except it being red and gold striped. Alice cleared her throat firmly before pointing her wand at the scarf.

"Vestis Vellus," Alice said clearly, moving her wand in the curly q motion.

Alice watched excitedly as the scarf changed into a blanket....well not quite. She could help but chuckle at her result. Half of it was still her Gryffindor scarf, but the other half was now a wool blanket with red and gold tie-dye as opposed to stripes.
"Keep it up, you're making good progress."

Once she was done she looked at her scarf. Nothing happened. Hmm..She took another breath before trying for the second time. She repeated the wand movement before saying the incantation "Vestis Vellus!" She saw her scarf turning into a really tiny blanket. "Well. At least it was turned into a blanket, right?" she said to herself.
Professor Kingsley stood back and watched a moment before approaching. "Good. Now, reverto will change it back into your scarf and you can try again."

He paused, considering the blanket. "Imagine what you want it to look like. What it will feel like. And then try again, keeping that picture in mind."

He smiled politely to the firstie --- poor thing was all flushed, haha --- and gently untangled the scarf from her hand to place it on the desk between them. "The reversal spell, after you've tried Vestis vellus, is simply 'Reverto.' Re-ver-to. Make sure you have a clear image of the object's original state in your mind, and then you know, flick your wand at it and it should work."

To demonstrate, Fletcher narrowed his eyes at the girl's long, white scarf-blanket-mabob. He flicked his wand, spoke, "Reverto!" and the abnormally huge scarf once again became normal-sized and neatly folded on the desk.

"See? It's all about visualization. At least, that's what works for me." He gave her a nod. "You should try the Vestis vellus spell again. Try to picture the blanket you want as an outcome as you say the incantation."
Preston nodded approvingly before moving on.

"You ok in there?" he asked with a slight smile on his face. He saw the panicked look on her face. "Hey its ok. We won't let anything happen to you." he said trying to reassure her.
"Thank you, Mister Greenwood," Preston said, as the older boy uncovered the firstie beneath the blanket.

It wouldn't be the first time she stole something from her friend.

Paybacks for Evelyn stealing her last name!

Unwrapping the scarf from her neck, she pushed the parchment off to the side. She did not want a woolly piece of parchment, although, it would be mighty helpful if she fell asleep in class. She'd have to try it before History of Magic because she always fell asleep in that class.

Patting down the scarf so it was flat across the desk, she gave a flick of her wrist so her wand was resting in her right hand. Uh-huh. Now to turn the pencil scarf into a blanket! She could do this; Transfiguration was her favorite subject!

"Vestis vellus!" she said, flourishing her wand in the snazzy little curly q.

Glancing down at her desk, Destin FROWNED at what was sitting there. She would rather have her yellow pencil scarf back instead of that blanket.

Forget the fact that it had a bear head sticking out, it was PINK!

Reverto."

Preston stopped short. "Interesting choice, Miss Shepard. Perhaps some more thought about size and texture before you cast again?"

Preston smiled. "Good, good. Keep it up, you'll manage it soon enough."

Or so she thought.

The little girl jumped away from the spot she was in and instead of running away gracefully she ran into something...or someone. Typical clumsiness! She looked up instantly and before she could frown or cry or whatever, the young man she hit was smiling gently and assuring her.. clearly un-affected by her light bang.

She looked back where she was to find a huge blue blanket on the floor. Back to the boy, "I...di.." She stuttered unable to talk for a second. Swallowing the tears and taking a deep breath she tried again "I didn't mean to do that. I'm sorry." Her cheeks were shade of pink now. It wasn't that she embarrassed herself in front of her classmates that annoyed her rather than that she was rescued by a He-Hormone-Freak.

She never liked those teenager students nor understood them but that boy seemed different helping a younger student like that. She couldn't imagine what else this school would teach her.

Louisa stepped back, took the blanket from the ground and put it on the desk… part of it while the rest dangled from the table. She gestured towards it and then looked up at the boy. "Can you make it into a scarf again please?" Yep! She needed help to do that reversion thing and it wouldn't hurt to cooperate with an older student for once right?
Preston stopped to watch and see what they would do.

But, for the moment, others were calling for his attention. "Ah, yes. I think this is a problem of concentration, so, let me change this back and we'll start again, ok?"

Preston flicked his wand at the scarf and uttered a quick, reverto. "When you want it to go back, reverto and a flick of your wand should do the trick, so long as you're thinking about what the object looked like before.

As for the blanket, close your eyes. Picture the scarf and then imagine that changing into a blanket. What color is the blanket? How does it feel? Is it heavy? Does it cover you? When you have a good picture in your head, cast again."

"Vestis Vellus" she said simply with the right motion of the wand. Now, her humorous scarf was now an interesting looking blanket.

Yeah, it still had the egg on it... But no bacon..... This was slightly depressing....
Preston continued. "Give it another go. See if you can't get it to look differently."

He patted her gently on the shoulder, "Hey its ok. We all are in school for a reason," he smiled. Why did first years take their mistakes so seriously? He wondered if he had ever been that way. "At least you didn't set anything on fire," he giggled. He used to do that a lot.

He nodded and cast a non-verbal reverse on the blanket. It shivered and shrank back to the scarf she had been working with. "Right as rain now." he told her. "Do you need help with this?" Might as well make sure before he went back to his chair and she got captures by the evil blanket bunnies or something again.
Preston smiled to watch Mister Greenwood helping. Although...

"It would perhaps be useful to show her how to do it herself, or at least say the incantation? After all, you won't always be there."
