But her comment cut him dry - he knew what she was insinuating - and he pouted. Like a child. "Biology 101, Lyric," He replied, trying to be smart. "Talking doesn't make babies." And so what, he was wounded. But he liked flirting. "It didn't result in children with the OTHER women." Maybe Cora was an exception. Man. She'd said that she LOVED him. He'd been petrified. Utterly and totally petrified by the word. That wasn't 'iloveyoubecauseyoursohotandmakemeswoon' that was I am in love with you. The terrifying, monogamous, marital kind that left men like James Parker in tears.
But she wasn't making sense and it was JAMES' mission in life to correct people. He was smarter. He felt a mental Duhhhhhhhh was necessary here. "Lyric, if I'm so unimportant in your life, why are you here?" And it was an honest question. There was no smirk. No laugh. No cheeky glint. This was James Parker. Or.. the James Parker that wasn't such a hideous jerk to her.
Fine. So she wasn't a huggy person. The honesty vanished and was replied by a ruthless, devilish smirk. "One.. more.. what?" It was mean.. but it was so much fun to bait her. She was electrically charged to anything he said. Much, much fun.
Oh.. here it came. BOOOOOOOOOM
And THERE it was. He grinned. "But it's your destiny!' He interuppted, complete with creepy 'oooooh' sounds. Heh. So she was incredibly easy to annoy. It was also incredibly funny to watch her explode. "C'mon. PA's are pretty hawt." *eyebrows* Aww, trash? That was a little mean, wasn't it? He chuckled. "Oh, dear sweet Lyric. I think you really need to untwist those knickers." And he was deadly serious about that.
*SNORT*
But the humour of the situation evaporated at her proposition and then.. decision. Primpernelles. EW. The place was like a goo factory. Pink glitter and.. wait a minute. "Is this my punishment?" He asked, forlornly. It seemed to be. He would be tortured and killed under the rays of sparkly singing bubbles of shampoo. Gargh.
She shouldn't have said that. His eyes grazed over her outfit. He was just.. looking? Scrutinising. *gulp* "Wild."
Why did his head suddenly feel so funny? And his throat.. it was rather dry.. "I can. Therefore, your theory was just cut short there." As they entered the shop, she shot him a look. Was the man seriously trying to imply something? No. No, she wouldn't even go there, because if she did she would get angry and the result of that would be breaking every glass bottle in the store over James's head.
Her eyes ran over the products in the store. She was buy a whole lot of things- courtesy of Parker of course. "Common Sense 101. That's where it all starts." Enough said. "You would know that if you had a bit of common sense. Children with other women were bound to happen." He acted like a fourteen year old teenage boy. "Why am I here?" She turned and faced him her brown eyes looking over him to make sure that he was serious. Which she wasn't used to."Because, although I might not seem like that person who gives a hell about anyone. I don't think people should have to suffer. And you seemed like you were out there."
Annd of course he was back to being an arrogant jerk. What else was new? She could practically see the headache coming. "My destiny? MY DESTINY Parker?" She had no clue to reply to that. Facing him she punched him hard in the stomach. Moving close to him her voice came out in a whisper. "If you ever say something like that again, trust me I'll do something much worse than pouring coffee in your lap. I'll make sure you'll never have kids again." Obviously though he wanted that. Soo if it was her "destiny" to help him she should do just what he wanted.
Lyric rolled her eyes ignoring the English slang as she picked up a bottle of Moisturizer from the shelf. Sunshine O'Shimmer was always a good brand. Looking over the bottle she gave him a nood. "Punishment. Yes."
The journalist flinched as he repeated the word wild. Honestly, she wasn't going to take this. She had her share of James insulting her again and again. It had even happened the first time they met. This just was not working. Lyric closed her eyes, as if she were trying to gather her thoughts. After a few minutes she opened her eyes, and put the bottle back on the self. "Nice to know." She said with a nod toward Parker, looking past him and not at him. "You know what James? I think we are done here. WE don't need to speak to each other, other than at work. I wish you best of luck with your whole baby situation." Strolling past him she made her way over to the other aisle.
