And never will.
"Iris it iz zen. Of course, only if you call me Noel." Smiling, he adjusted his jacket before sitting down a few feet away from the girl, stretching his legs out in front of him, though slightly apart. There was a pumpkin in the way.
…
*puuuush it away*
"Zo…" he started to say, settling himself back and leaning against one of the larger pumpkins that was growing. "What are you doing out here by yourself?"
Iris watched the boy as he walked over and sat down near her. She nodded at what he said.
"Noel -- Okay.." Hehe. Noel... Like Christmas. Iris liked christmas, it was a cheerful time of year. Maybe Noel was a cheeful boy? The girl twiddled with the tassles on the end of her scarf.
As he pushed a small pumpkin out of his line of view, Iris raised her eyebrow; half impressed. Even little pumpkins were heavy...
Listening to Noel as he spoke, Iris shifted in her little muddy spot.
"I... I like to sit out here and just think..." The girl sighed,
"...About my best friend, who left half way through last year." She looked over to Noel, and smiled sadly.
It was ironic, she thought. How Mr. Masterson brought the Pumpkin Patch back the year
after Aaron decided to leave. It was practically torture for her.
