The prefect had remained stonily silent as the circus that was this woman's class continued; he wasn't allowed to speak anymore, for threats of being thrown into detention for asking valid questions and withheld from the Triwizard Tournament. As much as he was sure Tate wouldn't let her do it, he didn't really feel like making the poor man do more work than he already had to, what with having this nutjob roaming his castle. So, following along with the potion's steps with almost a fluid, practised grace, Raiden simply listened to what was going on around him.

He wouldn't leave. He only attended this class because Tate and Truebridge had asked him to, along with Oliver and Nancy. He wasn't here to learn, really. He could and did do that by himself. No, he was here to make sure she didn't kill anyone.

...The students seemed to have grown braver. Indeed, a few had shed their reticence and were following what he had done, asking questions and wondering about things. As students were supposed to do.

And Lafay apparently didn't like it that much. Defiant eyes followed the professor's motions, which seemed as if they might have been shaken slightly by the fact that some she thought she held by fear were no longer afraid of questioning her.

Marie, especially, was coming out with questions and pointed statements. From his seat near the front, the young man smirked. While this hadn't been what he'd wanted in this class, it was something that brought him amusement. He hadn't meant for this to descend into what it currently was; his questions had been innocent, and the professor had answered with lies. And not intelligent lies, either.

His queries seemed to have opened the gate, and while some students were too afraid to ask anything, they weren't all in such a state now.

Maybe leaving at the end of term wouldn't be as worrisome a task.

And oh Merlin, Willie Crocker. Raiden choked on a laugh, managing to hold it in, for the most part. However, a quiet snort did escape him as he went about doing whatever they were meant to be doing.

Who even knew anymore.
