If you do not care to learn," She motioned her wand and the door slammed open. She didn't say a word... but it was pretty obvious she meant to get out. She turned to the ravenclaw who spoke. "I will ask that question when we are finished with the potion." She said and then continued.

"NEXT INGREDIENT." She said and moved on. "You don't have to squeeze the juice out of the leeches, that's been done for you... but in case you ever have to." She took a leech in her bare hands, laid it on a cloth and rolled over it with a small rolling pin. She then pulled up the cloth and wrung it from top to bottom in a beaker. "That's how you do it. If you wish to try it... the leeches are in the jar behind me, the leech juice is over here, and you can take some with your dropper." She dropped the drop of leech juice in the cauldron... and then she dropped a crimson liquid in after it. "After the leech juice you add the five drops of pomegranate juice." The steam was now purple. "Notice the distinctive steam..."
Grayson's eyes widened even more as the expected explosion didn't happen. Professor Lafay was entirely too calm. It was almost creepy. And she hurriedly picked her poor dropped knotgrass up and slipped it into her cauldron just as a safety measure, before pulling her gloves off and casting another quick Scourgify charm on them. The knotgrass had still been all covered in fig juice, and she'd cleaned her workstation well before starting, so it should be okay. She didn't even notice that the professor hadn't acknowledged her aborted attempt at answering the question, but she was just going to continue anyway. Hoping that there wouldn't be need to hide or flee but not sure that would actually happen. Potions was supposed to calm her. One of the things she was good at, but right now she was struggling to push her nervousness away. Nervousness that she knew would bode not well for her potion, so she was going to ignore everything else going on in the classroom.

At least they didn't have to squeeze the leeches, although she watched as the professor demonstrated how to if necessary. Maybe another time, though it looked all icky and gross. Instead, like most of the others, she went for the already harvested leech juice and sucked a drop into her dropper before returning to her cauldron and letting the drop go into the milky fluid inside. Cleaning the dropper out carefully to avoid cross-contamination, even though it was all getting mixed together anyway, she returned to get some pomegranate juice, then dropped five drops into the potion. And one into her mouth, just to possibly fortify herself. Antioxidants and all that stuff. Then a slight, tentative smile crept onto her face as purple steam started rising. At least everything seemed to be going okay with her own potion, even with the chaos going on around. So she added the last few steps to her journal, just to cover bases, and continued hoping class would be okay.

De-Aging Potion

Ingredients:

1 gallon of goat's milk.
1 tsp of crushed yellow moonstone
2 blue lacewing flies
10 shrivelfigs
2 tbsp of chopped knotgrass
1 drop of leech juice
5 drops pomegranate juice
1 tsp bicorn horn, crushed
1 phoenix tear
1 daisy root, finely chopped
2 sprigs of fluxweed
2 peppermint toads
1 chocolate frog
1 licorice wand

Process:

1. Make sure cauldron and all equipment are clean and intact. As always, materials that do their job is best.
2. Measure out a gallon of goat's milk and pour carefully into cauldron.
3. Finely crush moonstone, then sprinkle over milk, while stirring.
4. Add two blue lacewing flies.
5. Stir twice clockwise and five times counter-clockwise.
6. Cut knotgrass carefully, top to bottom. Avoid re-cutting the same spot.
7. Put cut knotgrass aside while you squish the juice of the shrivelfigs into potion. Wear gloves.
8. Pick up cut knotgrass and run it along gloves, coating it with any shrivelfig juice left on gloves, to prevent wilting.
9. Add knotgrass to potion.
10. Add the drop of leech juice. (note: Already harvested juice works fine, but if you need to harvest your own, place leech on a piece of cloth and use a rolling pin to squeeze. Then squeeze the cloth into a container to extract juice.)
11. Add pomegranate juice. Steam should turn a distinctiive purple color.
