He took his hand away from her chin. He smiled broadly at her. She was just too cute for her own good, wasn't she? "You don't have to explain. I know why you invited me, and it was very generous offer. I promise I'll think about it, and let you know asap." He replied.
Yeah, he would think about it. Everytime she spoke, his resolve not to be near anyone at this time of year wavered ever so slightly. Maybe if he was with Katrina, he wouldn't be as bad. Afterall, he would have someone to distract him, rather than watching the Sound of Music for the umpteenth time in his dark flat. Fuuuuuun.
She wondered if her face was going to turn purple or something from this all. He was laughing! Why was he laughing? Was he laughing at her? Her stomach churned a bit, no, those were butterflies, she didn't like them and as much as she wanted to squash it like the feelings right now, she couldn't.
Katrina's blue eyes went wide and she blinked.
"Oh, alright, I mean, oh, uhm... nevermind," she muttered, still stammering unable to form sentences. She felt like one of those cartoon characters that exploded from embarrassment. She resisted the need to fan her face to hopefully cool it off. And the thing that was insane was that it was
winter and it felt two hundred hundred degrees too hot.
Oh how embarrassing. How much more embarrassing can Miss Rayne get? Something told her very. Oh dear...
"Oh. so... uhm..." she continued to stammered, hating herself for not being able to form intelligent words and mentally cursing herself for being so stupid.
