And talking about her now, as if she was gone, would be the last straw he could pull on his emotions this year. No matter what the doctors said, he wouldn't simply believe them. He had admitted to more people than he wanted that she was dying, but that didn't mean that a miracle still couldn't happen. That, was his only way of coping right now. The only way that he could keep his head above water.
"I see." It was all he could manage in response. That was her way, that worked for her. He couldn't agree to it. His mother was still alive, he wasn't going to start acting like she was dead.
Lexi watched Sabel carefully. Shaking her head slightly she gave his hand another squeeze and said, "
Everyone grieves in different ways. I get that, but you have to grieve if or when the time comes or you will go mad. I did. You think it was just the events of two terms ago that sent me to St. Mungo's? No. It was everything. I felt like the floor fell out from under my feet. I was lost. I imploded." She let go of his hand and wrapped her arms around her legs. Resting her chin on her knees she sighed.
"
I hope that everything turns out okay for you, Sabel. I really and truly do with all of my heart. I am going to be there for you either way. I should stop being so closed off from the little world I built for myself and be around more," she said softly. Since she and Finlay had begun dating she neglected a lot of people. She was just so happy.
