"I'm a bit of a free spirit Carter, I can't stay in one place for too long you know? Which is why I can't see myself with the one person all the time." She shrugged her shoulders, "I may change my mind later on but for now, I am happy at keeping things simple."

Merlin! Was he being that obvious? He wasn't technically offended.

He actually didn't know what to technically classify his feelings as.

"No, no, of course not. I think it'll be lots of fun to go as friends. You like food. I like food. It'll be fun. Lots of good friendly fun." he said. And there he went... talking way too much.

He turned his head and looked at her. "Really?" he asked forgetting about the awkwardness. "That seems to me like it would be anything but simple..." And it seemed awfully lonely too.
