Jayne rolled her eyes when she heard Dani's comment. She slipped of her shoes and ran swiftly through the trees. Jay paused to listen for any signs of movement. A twig broke and Jayne pulled out an arrow and strung it to her bow holding that position until she saw a male deer walk into her shooting range. Quickly she released released the string and the arrow sailed toward its target. The buck fell to the ground like a rag doll. Running over she pulled out the arrow and grabbed the deer's legs and started to carry it back to the others.
Victoria's eyes followed Jayne then she turned to the girl, Dani, and asked,"Who was that?" Vic stared into the forest wondering where the doe had gone that had saved her. |
