She's right about not knowing exactly what it's like until they've seen it for themselves. If you come from a well-developed country into the slums of Dhaka or any other third world country, it's shocking at first and then completely depressing with a sense of hopelessness. It's a pretty dark place with all the range of emotions you feel, not kidding.

It's great that people donate to causes, but to see it first hand brings about a new level of awareness, like she said. I'm glad Emma got to see it through her own eyes, because it seems that it made her even more aware and passionate about her cause, which is great. It's so difficult to explain to friends what it's like when they continually say that it's silly to get worked up about these kinds of things. It makes Emma even more wonderful and a better role model.

On a lighter note, hand crafted clothes are so much prettier because of all the details they put into it. There's a really nice level of quality to it.
