Not only had he managed to knock off a lot of seeds from the first branch, he seemed to cool down a few other branches as well. He knew because his arm was not as hot as it was previously, and lifting his leg, the one with the shoe still on, he gave those few branches a kick. He could use as many as the seeds as possible, for he had no idea what he would run into deeper in the cave.
Unraveling the sock from the branch, he bent down and started to pick up the seeds that did fall. He placed each seed carefully on the sock, making sure to count each one.
Of course, if he kicked a branch off, it would be much easier for him.
