Wingardium Leviosa and
Fixate to get it floating in the air. She then grabbed a hold of the handle, pointed her wand toward it, and said,
"Locomotor umbrella."
...and she was off,
floating around the field on the end of umbrella, the perfect little way to get an eye on every student at all times.
She floated closer to the students.
"When I say go, you'll use the combination of charms we learned in class to get your horse levitated a few feet above the ground, fixed in place where you want it, then moving. I've helped you a bit by charming the horses to keep moving without you having to guide them with your wand. Just use the ropes on the horses to guide them around the tracks," she explained, as she hovered in place, still dangling from the end of her umbrella.
"You'll only float a few feet above the ground, meaning the end of your stick should be no higher than about five feet off the ground," she said. She eyed a few known troublemakers as she said this.
"You'll be disqualified and will lose an opportunity to gain house points if you do otherwise. You'll also do well to remember that you shouldn't engage in any shoving or other acts which may injure another student." She looked around for Fletcher, ready to give him a little warning glare.
"Now, you'll encounter several obstacles along the way, so be watchful and ready for those. You never know when they're coming, but when they do, just steer your horse to the side or use a school-appropriate charm to get the object out of your way," she continued.
"You must make it around the track five different times in order to complete the challenge (OOC: at least five different posts)." When you hear me announce that the race is over, just point your wand at your house and use Finite to end all the charms. Just remember to slow your horse down first and also try for a graceful landing, please." "Racers, assume starting position--in other words-- GET READY....SET...
GO!" OOC: Please read these rules before beginning.
Kurumi mounted her sparkly purple 'horse' and felt like the professor may have overdone it. Kurumi looked like a giant purple grape that had been attacked by glitter. Swallowing hard, Kurumi took out her wand and with her most fluid swish and flick yet, said "
Wingardium Leviosa" with confidence as her horse rose in the air. When it was only about a foot in the air, she said, "
Fixate!" and the horse froze in place. She played with her side pony-tail for a moment as she chose a name for her horse. "
Locomotor MURASAKI!" She smiled as her horse began to move forward. She jumped onto it and took off her cowboy hat and waved it above her head. This was going to be better than Defense Against the Dark Arts
maybe.
SPOILER!!: music!

SPOILER!!: balloons!

Then...there were many. Not only that, but as soon as they got just at eye-level, they began popping and releasing shaving cream into the air--and onto whoever happened to be unfortunate enough to be floating nearby.

Kurumi had been enjoying riding on her floating horse and singing along to the music when all of a sudden she heard a loud POP! and felt something cold plop on top of her head. Instinctively, she reached up and felt something fluffy and wet. She put her hand in front of her face and saw something white and smelled strangely familiar. "
Is this...shaving cream?" she giggled remembering the smell coming from the bathroom every morning her father shaved. There were balloons every where and it was only after one more exploded in her face did she realize she probably needed to either avoid them by flying in a different direction or use magic to protect herself. She opted for the magical option "
Protego!" she yelled and thanked potions class for teaching her that one.
SPOILER!!: feathers!

So now, not only are the balloons spewing shaving cream all over everyone, feathers are falling--feathers that will likely stick to the shaving cream and turn you into what appears to be a chicken...riding on a wooden stick...with the head of a horse.

Kurumi found herself unable to see for a brief moment and when she had some visibility again, she was coughing up feathers and found that she looked like a multi-colored version of the canary she had turned into with Heather when they had eaten Canary Creams at the beginning of the term. "
Scourgify," she said pointing her wand at herself to remove the shaving cream and feathers. At least now they wouldn't stick to her, but she found herself giggling as she continued to glide through the air like the sparkly purple grape she was. "
Come on Murasaki, faster!" She laughed as her horse listened and shot forward a few feet.
SPOILER!!: wind!

OOC: Please don't feel as if you need to rush to catch up with all the challenge posts. Just reply to them at your own pace. I'm leaving the thread open for about 24 more hours, so you have time.
Aw, the feathers were gone and that meant no more giggling for Kurumi. She frowned slightly as a sudden gust of wind blew against her face and caused her pony-tail to come undone. "
Wha------," she tried to speak but found it almost too difficult to do. Murasaki tried to continue moving forward, but soon came to a stand still and started moving backwards. Oh no no no! Kurumi took out her wand and said the first spell that came to her mind, "
Engorgio!" and Murasaki began to grow and grow until she was large enough that the wind seemed to have little affect on it and it started slowly inching forward again. Kurumi, now hanging onto the reins for dear life, looked down at the ground and began to regret her decision. "
Just until the wind dies down," she promised herself as her feet dangled.
