Eli grabbed her arm. "No! You can't do!" he spoke in an urgent whisper. "You swore you wouldn't say anything to [/i]anyone[/i]. You promised. Nobody is supposed to know about this, and if you talk to him about it, he might get so upset he dies on the spot! We can't let that-- look, let's just-- We need to talk to Professor Vindictus about it. " he said firmly. "He'll know how to sort it. Besides, you promised, and a promise is like a muggle-style Unbreakable Vow. You can't tell anybody because you gave me your word. You and Ari, you have to keep the secret. You're my secret-keepers now."

Of course, that didn't mean Eli didn't feel free to blab to Ellie and --well, the whole school -- about the Poor Doomed Prefect. What a wonderful tragedy in their midst!
