Ahhhhh, she chooses now to be observant. Forcing a half-grin onto his face, he began to insist that he was fine. "Don't worry about it. I'll be alright. Food always makes it better. Especially cupcakes." He put threw away the buttercream one before grabbing a regular chocolate cupcake.

"But I suppose...thanks for caring." He patted her on the head and took a huge bite out of his cupcake, which was pretty much half the thing.

"You know, you can ask them for anything and they'll get it for you." He was referring to the elves, obviously. But he was also trying to get her mind on something else. Since he really didn't want to talk about Monty at the moment. He wanted to forget about Monty. For now, at least.
