Alex grew up in a non-magical family. She thought the crazy things that is happening to her is just a joke of her bestfriend, the only friend in school. Her bestfriend guessed that Alex was a witch when she saw weird things happening to her. At first she thought it her friend is joking and thought the Hogwarts letter was another joke of her crazy bestfriend. That is until her friend showed her magical abilities to her and found out her bestfriend is a witch too.
