Chapter 20: Well…That Was Odd
Once the Sorting Hat finished its song Professor McGonagall began to read the long list of names. “Ahlborg, Dominic,” she read as a hush fell around the first years as a scrawny boy climbed up the steps. He was placed in Gryffindor. Many minuets passed and the crowd of first years became fewer and fewer. I was running threw alphabetical order when a girl named Mikaela Pflughoeft was sent to Ravenclaw. Next was me.
“Potter, Jess,” McGonagall called to the crowd. I lifted my head and strode over to where a wooden stool was placed. I sat down and felt the worn down hat placed on top of my head. There was a flurry of whispers across the Great Hall but no amount of noise could cover up the Sorting Hat talking to me inside my head.
“Is there even another choice?” the Sorting Hat asked me.
No
“Well, your house really does need some brains,”
I guess so
“Gryffindor!” the hat yelled to the crowd. The screaming from the far side of the hall was deafening. Harry even threw his fist in the air. “But remember,” the Sorting Hat whispered before McGonagall took it off. “I sort first years by what they are now. People can change on you pretty quickly,”
Thanks for reading. Can you believe that this is the 20th chapter? We should of had a party
