Lexi smiled weakly when Jake turned to the subject to Reese. "She and I became pretty close after last term. She is a good person." She knew that Jake surely knew that about her, but she felt the need to tell him that.
Lexi really and truly smiled when he asked who Wasabi was. Standing she reached up and opened her cage and whistled for her to come down. After a moment the beautiful Spectacled Owl flew from her cage and came to rest on Lexi's outstretched arm. "This is Wasabi."
"It duhh-don't bbbother me," Jake shrugged, kind of flattered at Lexi's indignation.
"In the end it kkkinda helps. I wuhh-want to prove mysssself."
He only nodded when Lexi mentioned Reese again. She'd gone off with Jack and stuff... plus, she'd been a prefect and he'd disowned her because of that. Kind of. Hehe. So, yeah, anyway... she was also a part of his old family, and they were...

"Awwww," Jake cooed as he saw the owl. He held out his hand and then half drew it back again.
"Cuhh-can I p-pet... him... her? I hhhave an owl, and a c-c-cat... and a tuhh-tarantula. And other an-animmmals." Though whether he could count those as family pets, Jake didn't know.
