Lexi smiled brighter still and shoved her trunk and cage up and out of the way and plopped down in the seat. "It's Lexi now, actually. Official name change and all that. "How was your term, Jake? I don't think many of us were too sociable this year, eh?" she said, making some small talk. Yep indeedy. She dug around in her pocket until she found a packet of droobles. Popping a piece in her mouth she held the packet out toward Jake. "Wanna piece?"
"Ahhh, you're an aduhh-adoptee as wwwell, huh?" Jake grinned. It was fairly awesome to know other kids in the same position.
"I'm cuhh-coming back here under mmmy official adopted nnname next term," he explained, fighting the urge to do a childish fidget to get comfortable in his seat.
At the question about how term went, Jake shrugged and tilted his head briefly to the side.
"Nnnot bad. I did my OWLs and ssstuff..." Most people looked surprise when he mentioned being a fifth year, but thanks to yet another recent growth spurt, he thought he was putting those reactions aside.
"I tttook all of them... it was hhhard work."
And then... what was that smell? CANDEH?! It WAS!
"Errr... thhhanks," he smiled, taking a piece before Lexi could change her mind.
"How wwwas term for you?"
