Taking up the second half he gave the lightest squeezed rendering only a few drops of lemon juice into the jar, and then with a new Teaspoon the boy tried again, "Perfect!" he smiled as he took out a grater and grated a small section of the lemon skin into the jar, "For zest!"

Screwing on the lid, he gave it a shake, then reopened his Melon and Lemon jam, "Would you care to try sir?"

A legend?

Well, noone had ever called him THAT before. Sage smiled.. a slightly prouder smile than before as he made his way over to test out Patroclus' melony lemony jam.

Just as he'd done during his previous taste testing, the professor took some jam from the small leftovers in the cauldron. He didn't want to mess up everyones jars!

... YUM.

"MMM, this is good!" Sage exclaimed, licking his lips in a satisfying manner. "The lemon really gives it that extra little ... something. Well done, Patroclus!"

After trying Patroclus' jam, he had himself another offer. This time from Alex who had apple jam. He couldn't turn down an offer for jam so quickly got himself a spoonful which he planted into his gob.

"This is good, just the right amount of sugar I'd say. Nice!" You could NEVER have enough jam.

"It's interesting," he commented lightly, licking clean his spoon. Maybe it was 'interesting' because he'd spoon also had apple, cherry, pear, strawberry and melony lemony jam on it.. "Sort of ketchupy, you're right." It certainly wasn't disgusting.

Setting the spoon to one side, Sage gave his watch a check. EEK! It was getting late! "Okay everyone, if you could finish up and jar your jam.. it's almost the end of the lesson. You can leave all your cleaning for me!"
