"Of course, Miss Salazar. We're getting ready to start our banner project right now, as a matter of fact," she said, smiling at the girl then turning back to the class as a whole. "You may continue practicing the charm on the paper, but make sure you listen carefully for the next set of directions," she told the class. "We're going to get started on our banner project now. Your assignment is to create either a house spirit banner or a Quidditch-themed banner using the Flashing Paint Charm (OOC: Banners do not have to actually be animated and flashing). The Quidditch banner can be for a Hogwarts house team or a professional team---your choice."
She waved her hand toward some boxes in the front of the room. "The boxes in the front of the room contain all the supplies you'll need, including banner-sized paper, extra paint, and extra paint brushes," she explained. "This project is worth up to 15 house points per student, so be sure to do your best work. The directions," she said, turning toward the board, "are here on the board. You may begin as soon as you're done practicing on the paper." (OOC once again: The following directions are written OOC, but in the roleplay world, Lexi has written nice, in-character directions on the board). Flashing Paint Charm Banner Project/Homework 3 Please read ALL directions
OOC: This part of the lesson will double as the Charms Lesson 3 Homework. It's worth 15 points and is due on or before July 13 at 11:59 EST. You are definitely free to do the assignment even if you haven't posted in class yet. Just jump on in and roleplay as if your character was here all along, please. You need to actually post your character's banner and paragraph in this thread, since this is an in-class assignment.
- Your assignment is to create a banner showing your support for a Hogwarts house or your favorite Quidditch team. Quidditch banners include both professional teams and Hogwarts house teams. Please roleplay your character making their banner in this thread. You may roleplay as much as you'd like, however, please post your completed banner and 10 sentence paragraph in one post and PM me a link to that post. In your PM, please include:
Username:
Character name/year:
House:
User ID:
- This means you must make a picture or graphic of some sort. You can make one with colors and markers (and scan it or take a picture of it) or you can create a banner on a computerized program such as Paint, Photoshop, GIMP, etc. Your banner does not have to actually be animated or flashing. You can just make a regular, non-moving picture, and we'll just pretend it's flashing and switching and all that jazz.
- The more detailed your picture is, the more points you get. It's worth up to 10 points to make a really nice, detailed picture that appears to have had a lot of thought and care put into it. It's worth another five points to write a 10-sentence long paragraph describing your banner, why you designed it the way you did, what it looks like, etc. Remember to put your finalized banner and paragraph in the same post.
- The beginning of this class (discussion and practicing) was worth five points, so altogether, you have an opportunity to earn 20 points during this class.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Lexi is also roaming around class somewhere. Have fun!
Alex sighed getting up and looking through the boxes grabbed a few different size paint brushes, a few different colors of paint and a posterboard for it and went back to her seat. Alex then sat at her desk frowning, trying to decide what to write, she would do the Quidditch Team Banner on her own House Team because well that was all she knew actually. Maybe something like Slytherin's For the Cup? because Alex knew next to nothing about Quidditch at all infact. Hmm, maybe a snake at the bottom and then the snake lifting the cup in the air in victory? That was a good idea Alex decided now for the actual words before she drew the snake.
