"The Messenger Spell is a good idea, and one I'm very fond of myself, actually," she said. Personally, she just thought it was a really unique idea to send a charmed paper airplane soaring through the air. Quote:

All thought emptied out of his head. She was like a goddess with a swirl of cotton candy around her head. His hand rose automatically, "They can use mirrors Professor Carlton," he breathed as his whole face flushed. he wasn't used to talking to her directly in full sentences. Spotting Dillon's flushed face, Lexi walked his way and briefly studied the boy, checking for any signs of him possibly passing out. Wasn't he the one that...had some sort of accident in the first class? Hmm... "Ahh, yes, mirrors! Two-way mirrors...can be used if the person you're trying to communicate with has the other mirror," she said. Quote:

Fallon sat up in her seat as the lesson began. She was stuck next to that boy and she was just going to ignore him and the girl who had sat herself next to him. Simple. Fallon raised her hand. "Well, Professor Carlton, you can use an owl. Or if you have the capability to use a patronus charm, you can send messages that way." "Patronus Charms...mmhmm. Neat little things, since everyone's version of it takes on a different form," she remarked. Maybe she'd teach a lesson about them one of these days... Quote:

Cam liked owls. They were hooooty. "All three of those are great choices," she said, pausing by the girl's seat for just a moment. She'd been very deep in conversation when Lexi had started the lesson, but she seemed to have stopped for now. In a way, Lexi couldn't blame her, though. A good conversation was hard to pass up sometimes. Quote:

Trixie raised her hand to answer the professors question. Communicate with each other? Well that was a fairly easy question. "Professor" she announced. "Well you could always use the owl post" she grinned. That was the most common way of communication between magic folk. "And the patronus messenger charm. Allowing your patronus to communicate for you" she smiled happily again Well this was charms class, so a charm was a good answer really. "Then there's the obvious way of through portraits. Sending messages from one to another ina different location.
And there was one final charm. "How about the protean charm?" she suggested seeing as this hadn't been said yet. Although she wasn't exactly sure how it worked. But she knew that messages could be disguised and passed on in this way. "Portraits and the Protean Charm, now there's two new ones no one has mentioned yet," Lexi remarked. "Both of those are good choices." Quote:

"You're exactly right. Two-way mirrors are definitely used for communication and are helpful in lots of ways," she replied. Quote:

"Well, they don't always have to be long messages to communicate to someone or a bunch of people do they?" she asked after raising her hand before continuing. "I mean, you can mark something with magic to get their message across. Like the flagrate spell. Or the dark mark that was used in the past. Those can get a message across pretty quickly and...well, communicate to others." "That's right, and often times people who want to keep their messages a secret from the wrong eyes and ears choose to use shorter, less obvious messages," she remarked. "The Dark Mark is a good example of how communication isn't always such a good thing, and how we can use different means of communication to serve malicious purposes." Quote:

They wouldn't get tired for a start...." She mumbled that last bit, as her thoughts turned to the worn out Screech. "That's right, Miss Griffin. All three are good methods to use," she said. "Now, let's get a little more specific with certain types of communication. Think about this for a moment. What are some ways a person can show support for their favorite Quidditch team?" she asked. Even if there were students present today who didn't have a favorite team, they could always think about what others who did have a favorite team would do. "Specifically, what can we make to show our support? Think along the lines of how we can use magic to communicate a message we'd like to get across...like, at a Quidditch game, for example."
