But she also found Professor Lafay someone who wasn't as cold as she appeared to be. Maybe even a mini Professor Kazimeriz - though of course, no one could replace Professor Kazimeriz, not even be really like him -- and he had cared, really cared, and he could have done anything for his students, even sacrificed himself. Gold bit her lip as she thought of that. Of him. Of the letter that had been delivered to her earlier. The letter from Professor Kazimeriz. She liked to hug the envelope.

It was her teddy bear.

"Good day, Professor Lafay," she said quietly, as her gaze landed on Raiden. "Hey," she said, as she slid into a seat beside him. She hadn't expected him to be here. Then again, a lot of things had changed in the past week. Such as the Slytherin Head of House. Lots of chaos and drama.

Gold didn't like all that.

Oh, thank heaven. Now the Ravenclaw quidditch captain and a Gryffindor prefect were here. Maybe they'd keep the snakes at bay.

"Pssst!" Eli hissed to the Gryffindor prefect as she sat a few rows ahead of him. "Hey, red!" he used his wand to do one of the few spells he'd mastered. "Wingardium leviosa!" he pointed it at her braided hair, hoping that it would levitate and tug on her braid and that would get her attention so he could ask her to sit next to him (in the free seat, as the other seat was occupied by the angry she-snakes.

For the moment he had forgotten LaFlame entirely. Maybe this wasn't the best plan, but he was a desperate man!
