For a long moment he stared at the cuts on her knee, listening to her words, letting them process. It was something he wasn't used to hearing, that he wasn't used to noticing. His friends were just...his friends...it was the way his mind worked. There were very few he liked the way Alexa was suggesting. Last year, he had developed that rare liking for her but....he adjusted his sleeve to a clean section of cloth. A lot had happened between then and now.

Gently, he pressed the fabric back to her knee to stop the bleeding, for once taking his time with his words and care with his tone. "I...am honored Alexa...that...is a huge compliment. I...apologize for my platonic eyesight, but it's just the way I am." He let out a slow breath, gradually letting his eyes trail up to look at her face, a face on the brink of breaking down. "Alexa, I cannot be anything but completely honest when I speak, please understand that. I love you, as a friend, as a person, as another soul. I do. I would not be around if I didn't. In a relationship way, if that is what you are suggesting, in all honesty Alexa, I don't believe I am ready for that...I...know you, but at the same time, I don't think we know each other as well as we could. Please understand, I do care for you, very deeply, and I do not say these things to hurt you." He didn't even know if that would make sense to her.
