Fallon walked down to the nursery. She pulled her sweater close to her because it was kind of chilly outside. She wasn't able to find her jacket, so she was just going to have to deal with being cold. She smiled as she walked the familiar way towards Pyrros' cage.
The Phoenix started to make a little song when he saw Fallon. She thought that must be a good thing because he was starting to recognize her.
"Hey Pyrros. Wow, you've gotten quite a bit bigger since the last time I saw you." She chuckled as the little Phoenix stood to full height.
Wow, he did get bigger. "Come on. Let's get you out of there for a little while." Fallon went to open the cage. Once it was open, she smiled as Pyrros flew to perch on her shoulder, his head leaning against hers. It was definately his favorite spot to sit.
"Let's go get you some food." She looked at the bowl that hade water in it.
"And some fresh water."
Fallon grabbed the bowl and dumped out the old water that was in it. She then walked, with Pyrros still on her shoulder, towards the cupboard where the food was stored. She grabbed some worms and started to feed them to Pyrros. Most people would've been grossed out by a bird eating while they were on your shoulder, but not Fallon.
Once he was done, she grabbed fresh water and brought Pyrros back to his cage. He flew inside and started to preen himself. She smiled and put the water in his cage before closing it. Taking out her special journal, she sat on the stool that was always there and began to write.
Fallon looked over what she had written and closed the journal, placing it back in her bag. She turned back to the little Phoenix that had been watching her write.
"I'll see you later Pyrros. I promise I'll be back soon." She rubbed his beak through the cage and then walked out of the nursery. She made sure to pull her sweater to her tightly and to walk fast. It was chilly out after all.
