Personality: Gavin (he prefers to be called this as Gawain...just...is too much) is best described as someone who is friendly. Gavin likes pretty much anyone and everyone he meets, unless they give him a really good reason to. He's definitely the opposite of a Type A personality; He doesn't believe in planning one's life at all, because the universe will be one's guide. If the universe needs to place one a thousand miles from home, the universe will find a way. Everything happens for a reason, essentially. He also tends to lump a lot of ...beliefs into one system that works for him, but over all? He strives to be a good person and put good energy back into the universe. He's the first person to find the sliver lining in any cloud and the last person to give up on anyone or anything.

That said, he can sometimes be too trusting. He's been hurt before by people he's given his all to because that is the only way Gavin knows how to do anything. By giving it his absolute best and not worrying about failure since he finds life lessons in every experience. He's easily wounded too, but tends to hide this.

Though he never seems to get angry, Gavin can be driven to this negative emotion when someone or something threatens those he cares about. Then he can become quite intense and protective,sometimes even overprotective. He can be flighty too, and was until he decided he should come back home to England.

History:
Gavin, born Gawain Edgar ( his mum had a thing for weird names) was raised in Scotland his whole life in an old family home. He was the third of seven children. Eldest is Antony Marcus, then Cleopatra Jane, Gavin's two older siblings. The younger siblings are Lancelot James , Sunshine Mathilda, and then the twins, Apollo Davis and Artemis May. Needless to say, Gavin grew up in a slightly hectic environment , due to all the children constantly running around. But he was never bored, that much he can say.

His parents owned and ran a funeral home, which some might not expect of the Murdoch family, given their overall unusual appearance. Muggles would refer to them as hippies, but most just say odd. Due to being raised in and around the concept of life and death since he was young, it's easy to see how Gavin was so very comfortable with his way of living which afforded him the most experience for the lifetime he was given. Not that he doesn’t believe he’ll probably get another chance, he’ll just be an otter or something the next time around and otters simply don’t get to have the same sort of amazing experiences as wizards, now do they?
He left home and immediately started work as an au pair, or babysitter, whichever term he felt would be best. He spent a long time actually, being a childrens caregiver . He enjoyed it quite a bit seeing as how he enjoys being around kids in general. Plus, it allowed him to see a side of Muggles he’d never seen before and he was intensely interested in their everyday habits and the like. Around the time he turned twenty-three, he was offered a job as a waiter in a famous muggle restaurant, and he took the offer ( mostly because it meant he’d be working with his then girlfriend) because he figured…why not? He could always go back to being an au pair. Which…he did, just after he broke up with the first serious girlfriend of his life, one miss Natalie Thornton.
Several years into his comfortable existence as a nanny, he decided…or rather, he felt that he needed to start wandering again. So it was with a slightly sad departure ( he really did care about his last clients children, Madison and Gregory Pritchard, adorable twins) that he embarked on the last long journey of his life. Somehow, he ended up in Mexico, then on to Central and South America. There, he caught up with an old friend, Zan Truebridge, and was inspired to come full circle and go back to England. There, he took the first job he could find, and has been at the Leaky Cauldron ever since.
