At her every movement, he strained his ears to listen for that oh so familiar jingling sound.
He heard none. The clanging of jars against shelves were far louder than a few coins in a pocket or pouch. "Yes, I agree. Much safer." he said and took a step back, letting the woman walk in ahead of him. "After you."
Resting his hand on his wand, Sully had his eyes focused on the woman's right side. The little movement did not get passed him.
A smile slid into the woman's face, and her eyes narrowed gleefully.
"Lady's first?"
Taking a step over, away from the wall, she lifted her left arm and pointed. The motion parted the cloak on that same side to reveal a drab, faded, olive-grey dress and beaten, black shoes. Finger trained on the spot marked by the man earlier, she asked,
"Over there, right?"
As soon as the question had been asked, her face still frozen in an uncertain look, the right side of her cloak was flung back by a quick toss of her other hand. The thrust ended in an open palm, stained black by the dust it was releasing.
And then the room went dark.
