"And have them steal all the good food? I think not." she said in a dramatic tone, clutching her heart as if it were an insult, however she smirked for a moment afterward when he spoke her thoughts. Yes, she would be watching his every move. To make sure the food wasn't being poisoned of course, and even then, he would have to take the first bite.
"Is making friends all that important anyways?" she asked, frowning slightly but not at all saddened about what he said.
"I mean, you got to travel and see the world. A lot of people hadn't even been able to get out of their hometown, much less a few miles from their actual home." Like her, for example, apart from this past summer of course.
"Well, that's good. Gives you a break from it all, and I'd hate to lose a friend so early on." Hmm, friend. Were they friends? All this conversation seemed pretty easy and, he made her laugh. It wasn't such a hard thing to do to make her laugh this year, but at least in the past minutes they have been talking, there weren't any big disagreements, yelling, spells being cast at one another, or thoughts of putting him on the list. So, they were...friends. Huh.
"So, you better stay. Or I'll be upset." And an upset Evelyn, no one liked.
