Elena only showed a momentary flash of irritation to Marik’s request then quickly, in the same moment, composed herself, bringing her smile once again. “Of course,” she told him with a small shrug of her shoulders. Willow would want to speak for herself anyways, she assumed. That’s the way she was raised. And that was just what she did and quite beautifully, Elena noted. However, Willow always spoke beautifully and diplomatically when she had her “queen face” on.
Elena had been so focused on the speech itself that it took her a moment to register what her friend had just said; more specifically how she had titled her. First, a look of immediate surprise crossed her features, her eyes wide, but every bone in her body expressed pure joy moments later. She caught her friend’s eyes and her own were screaming thanks and happiness. Normally, she would have just jumped up and hugged the girl, but this was not the time. She hoped, though, that for now her expression showed her how much it meant to her. Out of any of the friends she had throughout the years, she trusted Elena enough to name her Chancellor. It was a great honor.

As though her eyes had a mind of their own, they drew themselves away from her friend and right to Dozer the moment he joined Marik. Her breath caught unwillingly and she silently let it out. Somehow, somehow she still thought that they were only close friends—that those were the only feelings she had for him. Even so, she had to admit that he was still unbearably gorgeous. Whatever girl he ended up with would be a lucky one…
Having to remain professional for now, she merely gave a soft smile in answer to his kind hello. “Likewise, Mr. Flint.” While with the seven and while everyone was looking on, you had to act like one of the seven.

Her eyes fell away from him for a moment as Ash joined them. He had heard it all, she knew. He was, after all, a Nightdweller. She smiled as took a seat and as she listened to him speak. Ash, too, was so learned and eloquent in his speech. And it did well to end all conversation. Elena’s eyes fell on the two as they headed away towards the Slytherin table. They weren’t finished.. Neither of them were quitters.

“Exciting spin off for our start at Hogwarts,” she said rather sarcastically to her friends, bringing her attention away from the two boys.

“Oh no! I stuck with my usual candies,” Zuri told Marik with a grin. “I hope you had sooome though. It’s a great mood lifter, you know?”
Once he had headed off with Dozer, she looked to the three friends beside her and scooted a little closer to them, for she didn’t know those to her other side as well, then started fixing the jewelry on her wrist. It was twisted! She didn’t really bother joining in whatever it was they were talking about, because she had no idea. Plus, mother always said to not be nosey unless it was completely necessary.
