Blah! OOC: Chamomile info found in my brain and here "It's Professor, not Miss..." she said to the child coldly. "And no. You have have not been harmed, you do not need healing. You merely need hair." She said. Quote:

Hmm.... Re'em blood? She had only read a little about that. But she knew some basics, and it was worth a shot. "Uhm... I think Re'em blood would be used because it can gives you strenght, possibly for growing the hair back quicker, while salamander blood is mainly used for healing." Blink. Blink. Hopefully she hadn't mixed those up, even though lizards and oxes were pretty hard to confuse. "Right... that's one reason, but there is a more important one." she said. Quote:

"You shouldn't" she said plainly. "Think of an adhesive that. Isn't. Glue." Quote:

But..then this question...salamander had regenerative properties, it was the most obvious choice...yet...it wasn't. Interesting.
Asuming that if he was wrong, the Professor would let them know the right answer, Treyen raised his hand, "All I know from Re'em, is that it's blood gives us plenty of strength if we drink it.." and he made a face, eww, drink blood, he was no vampire, you know, "...but, perhaps, being the salamander a reptile and the re'em closer to what we are, then...that's why it works? Or perhaps because the re'em shares some healing powers as the ones from unicorns, without its blood making the drinker cursed? he sort of answered, and he sort of asked, because he had no idea. ... Unless Professor Lafay was totally evil, which she wasn't, and they weren't going to brew something to get their hair back.
Eep! Gold raised a somewhat hesitant hand. "Re'em blood is known to give the drinker strength," she said, a little uncertainly. "Which figures, in this case." Hair-strength, right? "I know Salamander parts are used in the standard Strengthening Solution, but the Strengthening Solution works for the overall body, and perhaps it's possible to concentrate the use of Re'em blood, on a particular area? Intent is important in most magic, so maybe Re'em blood can strengthen hair, when added to the right ingredients and infused with the right intent, but the same can't be said for Salamander parts? Alternatively, we know Salamander blood possesses excellent regenerative qualities, so maybe the hair will grow too quickly, if that is used in a potion?"
"... not to mention, Salamanders only survive out of the fire for about six hours, I think." Or was it seven? Eep. "Maybe we need to work with something that has been left untouched longer?"
It was conjecture, all of it. But a guess is better than saying nothing, which was why Gold thought it worth a try. "Good Miss Laksh... but what else?" Really? The girl names GOLD, wouldn't know this? Quote:

What? Don't give him that look!! He didn't know anything about potions, it was a wonder he even passed this subject each year. Though unicorn tail hair is said to have regenerative and strengthening properties, as is pomegranate juice and ----- and flobberworm mucus thickens a potion. THERE! Perfectly reasonable explanation. "And there is the adhesive... flobberworm mucus." She said to the gryffindor. Quote:

At least, all the important stuff. "Yes, Miss Flores you are right." Finally... "Why add an ingredient to a hair raising potion from a creature who is bald! Add the ingredient from the creature with the golden hair." Quote:

"Yes, Master Hudson are right." She said "And Lavender is indeed an ingredient. And a hair follicle is a part of the skin that grows hair by packing old cells together... do it's your OWN hair follicles we are using... but it's not an ingredient in the potion."
She sighed and then tapped the black board "Get the items in the Potions Closet," she said. Quote:
