Slowly she crept a hand up over her head and let out a small eep! as her other hand quickly clapped over her mouth to muffle the shreik that came after. No hair! Her gorgeous raven locks were gone!

Eyes welling up with tears, Mariel started to hypervenilate as she slowly made her way into the classroom. Yes, she was certain that this was part of the lesson but... her hair! Calm down, Mariel, she told herself as she tried to regulate her breathing and noticed the message on the board. See, all she had to do was brew the potion correctly and she'd be fine. And Potions just happened to be her best class. Piece of cake.

She slid into the seat next to Nia and merely gave her housemate a weak smile, not being able to speak following the shock of losing her hair. Pulling the hood of her cloak over her head, Mariel slowed her breathing to normal, waiting for class to begin. She needed her hair back!
Nia was quickly finding that people looked completely different with no hair. Not that it wasn't expected of course, since someone's hair was obviously one of their distinguishing features, but she was having trouble generally recognising people.

She did recognise this face heading towards her though, and returned the smile. It was a 'we can do this' encouraging smile. She noted Mariel's hood and breathing, and could tell her friend was probably somewhere between shocked and very annoyed. Nia was much the same inside, not that she'd ever show it in this class. Who knew how the Professor might react.

Actually, having Mariel beside her had helped alleviate it a bit. Nia couldn't think of anyone she'd rather be sitting next to in a lesson such as this - where a perfect accurate potion would be rather important (she wouldn't put it past Lafay to not rectify any missing hair if a potion wasn't brewed right). They could help and support each other if needed.

"A warning would be nice, professor." she said through gritted teeth and tears....

She saw Nia. Someone she knew. Good. She walked over and sat next to her. Hoping she wouldn't mind.

Lafay was lucky she didn't burst out into embarrassingly awful tears! She was practicing self restraint. Against this teacher at least. For now.
It wasn't long before someone joined her on the other side. Nia tilted her head, recognising the face, but struggling without the hair. It was just odd. Especially with the girls who tended to have long hair. Ah it was Ellie! Nia gave her a small smile as a welcome, but kept her mouth shout. Something told her Lafay would not accept idle chatter in her class. Even if everyone was bald.

Well, of course she realizes this now. Now that she was the victim.

"Yeah, it only took Lafay to do something to you to come to your senses..." she snorted. Yeah right.
Nia shot Ellie a look. A watch it, Lafay is right there at the front kind of look. They did not need the lesson to start off badly...
