So She watched Gold studiously as she fixated the sheet with that spell to her body, but the screaming Slytherin nearby was definitely distracting her.
She nodded to Gold when she passed the metal sheet to her and slowly applied it around her body keeping edges protruding to the outside then pulled her wand out, by lifting one knee up and pulling it out of her sock, and attempted at the charm like the way Gold demonstrated earlier.
"Fixate". Nothing Happened.
"Fixate", nothing happened again, she sighed.
"Fixate Fixate Fixate Fixate Fixate Fixate-" Abbi gasped when the sheet clung to her upper body and tried to breath, "is-it-suppose-tobe-so-ti-ght?" "Not everyone is born with an affinity for Quidditch," Gold said, lightly. "We all have our strengths and weaknesses. Of course, you've only just started to learn. You never know, you might turn out to be extraordinary at the sport. One can hardly ever be certain, this early."
She watched Abbi give the spell a few tries, and not succeed. There was nothing wrong with that. The good thing was that the first year was trying and, right now, that was pretty much all that mattered. "Finite Incantatem," Gold said, to nullify the effects of Abbi's spell, the moment she saw that the cookie sheet had attached itself, too firmly.
Her spell would cause it to come off, at once.
"The things with charms is," she said, gently. "That they depend as much on intentions, as they do on wand-work. If you concentrate on attaching something loosely, you can get that. If you concentrate on attaching something very firmly, you can get that, too. I think you were extremely focused on trying to get the cookie sheet to attach itself, and it ended up doing precisely that. Give it another try, and focus on exactly how you want the cookie sheet to attach itself - comfortably. You have the hang of the spell now, so it should be pretty perfect, this time."
She smiled slightly, waiting. |
