Cadence jumped about five feet off the ground and gave a shriek when someone whispered in her ear, and she immediately reached for her wand, whirling around wide-eyed. Don't dooo that to me!" she said, punctuating each word with a hit of the pillow.

Why were boys always scaring her?!
