Though you would get into trouble with the law anyway, Gold supposed. For reasons that had little to do with not having registered a potion. Then she added, more thoughtfully,
"So if a potion is registered in, say, France, and not with the British Ministry, would it, technically-speaking, be illegal to use it here?"
STILL curious!kitty. "If you intend to use a potion for a... sinister purpose," And here Nico smirked, amused at the question though not at all bothered by it, "it'd be fairly stupid to register it. Especially if it was registered to you and you alone, since it would make it all the more simple for it to be traced back to you." He shifted slightly, adjusting his grip on the wriggling child in his lap.
"Generally speaking, sinister individuals prefer to avoid being caught or convicted for their... sinister antics." Hehe.
"But in all seriousness, if something is illegal, like murder for example," Lets gloss over this briefly shall we? Nico glanced at Anna, "It won't be any less illegal, and if you get caught you'll most certainly find yourself in trouble. As for where its registered, it depends on what it is if one is to speculate over the legality of a thing. And where it is administered of course... and where the... drinker is when the effects begin to manifest." He shrugged. There were ways around such things and... probably it would be best that he did not educate Hogwarts kids on such things. But then, he was sure she wasn't quite asking if the law ceased to apply.
"Wizarding law is a useful subject for a potioneer. Particularly international Wizarding law and not just those that apply specifically to the country you live in." He offered a casual grin and brushed as many of the crumbs off his pant leg as he could. |
