Like...the time the Ministry took over and all those ridiculous Ministry employees taught them. Anna wondered if something like that had happened again. "So what makes her---or him---so crazy...and scary?"
Anna shifted her weight from one side to the other while she thought about the answer to the girl's question. "Well..., the thing is, you need a pretty good NEWT score for lots of Potions job. So I guess as long as you're doing some kind of work on your own and just not neglecting it altogether, you'll be alright. I don't know if it's my place to advise whether or not it's alright to skip a class, though," she said. "Is the professor...that bad?" Maybe this was the reason William was studying on his own, too... A teeny part of Grayson felt bad for interrupting William's conversation with the Potions lady, but it was done and she couldn't go back. And it was interesting that the lady didn't seem too surprised, or worried, about the idea that a professor was crazy and scary. Swiping a pamphlet from the table as the lady laughed, she shrugged. "I'd almost be willing to bet that they weren't this crazy," she said, slipping the pamphlet into her bag and petting Draco a little. As she was then asked to explain more, her green eyes went to the lady. Should I really say?, she wondered. Figuring it couldn't get her in any more trouble than anything else she could do, she shrugged again. "Well, in our first lesson, she snapped at everyone if they didn't answer her questions, then kicked Celandine out of class for mentioning she had an allergy to calendula pollen. Which was actually kind of funny, cause a Howler was sent to her for that And then she lit students on fire. I mean, we'd been brewing a burn-healing unction, but she didn't even warn the students. And then she gave Celandine and a Slytherin prefect detention for defending the students, and the other Ravenclaw prefect detention cause he said his name wasn't prefect." And that was kind of only a summary, but she was still wondering if it was worth it to keep going to class.
She kept watching the lady as it seemed a lot of thought was going into the answer to her earlier question, and she gave her an innocent look as she got her answer. "If you go into research, or creating potions?," she asked. "I was planning on trying to figure out how to keep working on the subject, outside of class. It's all just kind of . . ." She shrugged yet again. At least she knew her ferret didn't have any problems with her making potions, since she had a feeling she was going to be hiding in corners with him a lot trying to study. If Professor Lafay didn't get less scary, so she felt more comfortable in class.
