Once Jake had the incantation nailed in his head, he began to speak it nervously out loud to himself as other students found themselves successful with the spell. The lucky gits.

Standing and holding his wand out once more, Jake said it a little louder. "Revertoscutum!"

Nothing... but at least he now had a method to tone down the stutter; whisper what he wanted to say a few times before he said it.

Because that totally wouldn't look weird.

At last he had... something. A little too much of a something. A sheild erupted from his wand... and it was blue, alright. Dark blue. Like, he couldn't really see through it, it was so dark. Which would be BAD in a duel.

As his sheild receeding, Jake scrunched his nose. "Ffffail."
