It was while she was picking up the shoe that she heard Torin's voice and stopped what she was doing to listen.
And smile, because her they both sounded very professional and prefect-like. It was a grand speech, and Wesley could have never said anything nearly as eloquently. Nodding, face serious, the teenager crossed her heart in promise. She'd set a good example. She'd be a good fourth year.
...But she couldn't think of any questions. This wouldn't have been a problem normally, but none of the others were asking either. Wesley didn't want her friends to stand there with no questions. She didn't want them to feel lonely. Raising her hand, the short girl called from the back, "How many years has it been since we won the House Cup?"
Wesley didn't know. Definitely more than 3. Which was a long time. Eyebrows dropping with worry, she began to wonder if they had ever won it at all. Ever in the whole history of Hogwarts. Oh, Wesley hoped so. She crossed her fingers, hoping to dear Merlin they had won at least once before. Just one! Just one time! Please, oh please, oh please, oh please, just ONCE! If they hadn't, Wesley would, well, Wesley figured her heart would break. Lifting her left hand to the spot where she thought her heart was, fingers still crossed, the girl's frown deepened. She didn't want her heart to break. Broken hearts sounded scary. Quote:

And really, he couldn't blame his own housemates why they'd like to talk and chatter because they were just being friendly and all. But yep, Torin and the other prefect had a point. They were right, he thought. And so they must obey or at least, keep in mind what the two prefects were requesting them to do.
He turned back to Katie and then back to the prefects. He felt guilty and sad and all. He knew that there was still hope for Hufflepuffs and look, they weren't really the worst house ever. He kept his gaze downcast and looked up as someone asked something that should be really answered. "Since my first year, Hufflepuffs didn't win the house cup." He told the girl as he gave a slight nod. Quote:

Sure they had won the quidditch couple some years in a row but nothing could take away the feeling of winning the house cup or winning them both. She raised her hand when Sarah asked if they had any questions. She did and she kind of had a suggestion as well.
" Ok well since we are in the negatives, the slytherins came up with a way to get house points before classes even started, is there anything we can do to get additional house points like maybe propose a project to the professors or something?" Ok so it didnt sound as smart when she voiced it out loud but whatever. She went on. "And since some of the younger students are having a problem remembering the rules, maybe we could have mentors for them or something. Like, the older students could volunteer to steer the younger ones in the right direction so to speak..." she dropped her hand and looked at both her prefects. Quote:

The minuses, she did NOT want to talk about that, knowing who cause them to be in the minuses. It was her fault too but she wasn't there when the points we taken off. But she did feel bad, like she had let Hufflepuff down. She never wanted to do that.
She nodded listening to Torin and taking his advice. She remembered chatting but thankfully most of them weren't Hufflepuffs. She also did check the rules, well briefly but she still did it. She hoped that most of the people in this room did too. Melissa smiled when she heard Torin say how amazing that they were, that was true in her opinion.
Badgertastic! What a word. But she had to agree they were Badgertastic! Great now Sarah talked about trouble, er she kinda did do trouble on the fifth floor. Again, she wasn't proud at all. Yes positive points, they were going to get positive points and win.
After listening to the Quidditch part of the conversation, which was terrible at the fact that they haven't won since well when the older boy said to Wesley (oh she is awake now!) since his first year. He looked very older so she was guessing about 5 or 4 years ago. That wasn't good, she wanted them to win this year.
She now looked at a girl who raised her hand. She listened to her and spoke. "Well, I heard that Professor Truebridge gave them a small opportunity to get them back to the positives," well she did hear that but it was kind of a rumour, she didn't know anyone in Slytherin who could confirm it. "And I have no idea how we are going to do that," she tried to carry on, "we could propose a project. That is a pretty good idea really, then we could earn back those 6 points and maybe get us catching up to the Slytherins." There was no doubt in her mind that she wanted to them to win. She chose not to comment on the other suggestion what the girl had said because she was a young student so she couldn't say anything. But she nodded and looked at Torin and Sarah giving them a small smile. Quote:

Set a good example for them and we can all work together to help them get into the Badger Spirit. Lets all be Badgerific." Ohhh, Wesley was there! Sarah had been so caught up in getting the meeting started, and saying the right things, that she'd failed to spot her among the other badgers.Bad Sarah.Giving her a smile, she nodded as Cedric answered the question for her, more or less. "Yes, it's certainly been a while, not since I've been here anyway.I'm not entirely sure of the EXACT date of the last win, but I'm sure it would be in the Trophy Room," nod, nod, nod.Wherever the heck that was....
Then Rhea made suggestions and comments, that Torin addressed, Sarah nodding along with both of them.Melissa's comment about the Slytherin's was something she could answer though... "From what I heard," she said, turning slightly to face her, "Professor Truebridge made them all go to that meeting the morning after the feast, and gave them the chance to redeem themselves. Our points penalty is not as severe, and it would be nice to keep it that way.Upwards into the positives is the only direction we want to go in," adding a wink at the end to show she wasn't always a dragon. Not always.
But Rhea's idea did sound like a great one. "I suppose for the points thing, we could always ask Mr Masterson if he needs help more often.Being our Head of House now, he might be more likely to oblige...." If they knew what she meant. Not that she was insinuating he'd favour them. MERLIN NO.But, you know - it was worth a try. "And perhaps, if we wanted to make it all official like, we could create a sort of buddy system. An older student could help a specific couple of younger ones...around the school and in studying and suchlike?" Was that a bad idea? Sarah had heard of that sort of thing before, but she'd never done it.Might not be feesable...
