Steven paused, foot mid air and then raised a hand to caress the back of his neck before moving to stand in front of Nancy. "Hey Nance." He said gently as if he was walking on eggshells. All through Summer, he had tried to show Nancy that they were meant to be together; that he had (literally) never thought they were/would be apart... but he missed her and she looked like she could use a hug.

And he used to be that person.

But he wasn't sure if he was now.

And that hurt.

"You doing okay?" He asked her softly, as his hands found his pockets and he looked from her gorgeous face to the floor. He didn't want to get his heart set on something it couldn't have; and she had made that clear over the Summer. No, his parent's and Sarah effectively ruined that for him. He hissed once more silently, glad to have his own flat to go home too.
